The wavelet-based scheme for the fusion of multispectral (MS) and panchromatic (PAN) imagery has become quite popular due to its ability to preserve the spectral fidelity of the MS imagery while improving its spatial quality. This is important if the resultant imagery is used for automatic classification. Wavelet-based fusion results depend on the number of decomposition levels applied in the wavelet transform. Too few decomposition levels result in poor spatial quality fused images. On the other hand, too many levels reduce the spectral similarity between the original MS and the pan-sharpened images. If the shift-invariant wavelet transform is applied, each excessive decomposition level results in a large computational penalty. Thus, the choice of the number of decomposition levels is significant. In this paper, PAN and MS image pairs with different resolution ratios were fused using the shift-invariant wavelet transform, and the optimal decomposition levels were determined for each resolution ratio. In general, it can be said that the fusion of images with larger resolution ratios requires a higher number of decomposition levels. This paper provides the practitioner an understanding of the tradeoffs associated with the computational demand and the spatial and spectral quality of the wavelet-based fusion algorithm as a function of the number of decomposition levels 相似文献

To generate the optimal state estimate, the fusion of information from multirate multisensors with asynchronous sampling rates is studied. The problem is formulated by linear time-vary dynamic system combined with multiple sensors observing a single target with asyn- chronous and different sampling rates. Unlike the traditional interpolation or batch process approaches, the state estimate is achieved by system prediction followed by sequential update along sensors. In updating, Kalman filter and the orthogonal projection theorem are used. The optimality of the algorithm in the sense of linear minimum variance is verified. Experimental results show the feasibility and the effectiveness of the presented approach. 相似文献

Combining data sets from multiple satellite sensors is a powerful method for studying Earth-atmosphere problems. By fusing data, we can utilize the strengths of the individual sensors that may not be otherwise possible. In this paper, we provide the framework for combining level 2 data products, using data from three sensors aboard the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)'s Terra satellite. These data include top-of-the-atmosphere (TOA) radiative energy fluxes obtained from the Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES), aerosol optical thickness from the multispectral Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS), and aerosol properties from the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR). The CERES Single Scanner Footprint (SSF) contains the pixel level CERES TOA fluxes and the level 2 MODIS aerosol data. We specifically focus upon fusing the CERES SSF with the MISR aerosol products. Although this project was undertaken specifically to address aerosol research, the methods employed for fusing data products can be used for other problems requiring synergistic data sets. We present selected case studies over different aerosol regimes and indicate that multisensor information provides value-added information for aerosol research that is not available from a single sensor. 相似文献

远距离目标检测具有重要的军事应用价值,而多传感器能提供互补和冗余信息,在远距离目标检测中具有独特的优势.针对可见光和红外热图像序列中的远距离目标,提出了一种基于信息融合的目标检测方法.该方法通过帧间差累积,在两种传感器的图像中确定了运动目标区域,定义了运动目标区域可信度度量,利用融合的规则确定了最后的运动区域.在运动区域中利用简单的分割方法将目标提取出来,最后经过特征级融合得到了检测结果.本方法不需要进行背景估计,多传感器信息的冗余增强了检测结果的可靠性,实验结果证明了本文方法的有效性. 相似文献
