In this study, complexes composed of poly-l-tyrosine (pLT) and single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were produced and the dispersibility of the pLT/SWCNT complexes in water by measuring the ζ potential of the complexes and the turbidity of the solution were investigated. It is found that the absolute value of the ζ potential of the pLT/SWCNT complexes is as high as that of SWCNTs modified with double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) and that the complexes remain stably dispersed in the water at least for two weeks. Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) and visualization of the surface structures of pLT/SWCNT complexes using an atomic force microscope (AFM) were also carried out. 相似文献

Thin metal films often exhibit interesting properties that are essentially different from the bulk ones. XAFS (X-ray absorption fine structure) and XMCD (X-ray magnetic circular dichroism) techniques are quite suitable to investigate structural, thermal and magnetic properties of thin metal films. In this proceeding, we will present following two topics concerning structural and magnetic properties of adsorbates on thin metal films. The first one is the adsorption geometry of SO2 on a 1-monolayer (ML) Pd thin film grown on a Ni(111) single crystal. It was found by S K-edge XAFS that SO2 is lying flat on 1-ML Pd/Ni(111). This result is not similar to the bulk Pd surface but to the bulk Ni one. This finding indicates significant modification of the electronic structure of the 1-ML Pd film compared to the bulk one. The second topic is the magnetic moment induced on CO adsorbed on Ni epitaxial films grown on Cu(001). The O K-edge XMCD results revealed that in the perpendicularly magnetized 10-ML Ni film the orbital moment of CO is parallel to the substrate Ni magnetization, while it is antiparallel in the in-planar magnetized 6-ML and thick (>100 ML) films. A novel cellulose solution, prepared by dissolving an alkali-soluble cellulose, which was obtained by the steam explosion treatment on almost pure natural cellulose (soft wood pulp), into the aqueous sodium hydroxide solution with specific concentration (9.1 wt %) was employed for the first time to prepare a new class of multifilament-type cellulose fiber. For this purpose a wet spinning system with acid coagulation bath was applied. The mechanical properties and structural characteristics of the resulting cellulose fibers were compared with those of regenerated cellulose fibers such as viscose rayon and cuprammonium rayon commercially available. X-ray analysis shows that the new cellulose fiber is crystallographically cellulose II, and its crystallinity is higher but its crystalline orientation is slightly lower than those of other commercial regenerated fibers. The degree of breakdown of intramolecular hydrogen bond at C3[Xam(C3)] of the cellulose fiber, as determined by solid-state cross-polarization magic-angle sample spinning (CP/MAS) 13C NMR, is much lower than other, and the NMR spectra of its dry and wet state were significantly different from each other, indicating that cellulose molecules in the new cellulose fiber are quite mobile when wet. The multiple interference effect is one of the major causes of the fluctuation in critical dimension control (CD) and in mark detection for alignment. Suppressing this effect is critical for future photolithography. We propose a new photolithography technique called anti reflective coating on resist (ARCOR), which improves linewidth accuracy and overlay accuracy by suppressing multiple interference. ARCOR consists of relatively simple processes: A clear antireflective film is spun onto the resist prior to the mark detecting for alignment and exposure. The film is subsequently removed and the resist developed in the conventional way. ARCOR differs from ARC, which suppresses the reflection at the resist/substrate interface. ARCOR suppresses the reflection at the air/resist interface. ARCOR allows mark detection and exposure without light intensity-loss and multiple interference. The experiments mainly examine polysiloxane and perfluoroalkylpolyether as ARCOR materials. It is shown that linewidth accuracy can be improved from 0.3 to 0.03 μm. The signal-to-noise ratio of the alignment signal is drastically improved, and the overlay error is about half that of the conventional method. ARCOR is also effective for directly measuring the reflectivity at the resist/substrate interface, which is a key parameter of the multiple interference effect and the halation. Using ARCOR and a thin resist film, the measured ratio of reflected light to incident light indicates the reflectivity at the resist/substrate interface. Because, the probe light does not reflect off the resist surface and the intensity-loss at the resist surface is suppressed. With perfluoroalkylpolyether film, the measurement error is ~ 1.5%. 相似文献

Solid-state bonding between ultralow-carbon steel and pure nickel was conducted by hot pressing with various compressive strain ranging from 5 to 15% and subsequent isothermal holding at 923?K. It was found that the interfacial strength of contact area is accounted for by the evolution of the intrinsic strength of the interface and the amount of plastic energy dissipation at the crack tip during interface fracture. The compression induces severe deformation around the interface and consequently inhibits the plastic energy dissipation during interface fracture. In the first stage of isothermal holding, the residual strain around the interface on the steel side is reduced by recovery process, which concurrently decreases in the yield stress of the area adjacent to the interface. This promotes plastic energy dissipation of the area, leading to a significant increase in interfacial strength in the first stage. 相似文献

A new finishing process for metal molds by large-area electron beam (EB) irradiation is proposed in this study. In the large-area EB irradiation equipment used here, an EB with high-energy density is irradiated without focusing the beam, and so the EB with a maximum diameter of 60 mm can be used for melting or evaporating metal surface instantly. Experimental results show that the surface roughness decreases from 6 μmRz to less than 1 μmRz in just a few minutes under proper machining conditions. The corrosion resistance of metal mold surface also could be greatly improved by large-area EB irradiation. Furthermore, the surface roughness of tilting surface close to 90° could be well improved. Therefore, large-area EB irradiation method has a possibility to become a high-efficiency finishing process for metal molds. 相似文献

We have developed a magnetic flux leakage (MFL) system using magnetic resistive (MR) sensors for detecting two dimensional magnetic field components, and an induction coil that generates low magnetic field strengths and extremely low frequencies. The signal at each scanned measurement point (i) was divided by the signal strength Mmes,i and phase αi by a lock-in amplifier. Using the strength Mmes,i and phase αi, we calculated the imaginary part of the signal using the common phase β. By optimization of the common phase β to the imaginary part, the analyzed scanning data curve was shown to be effective in estimating the size (depth and diameter) of back-side pits on a ferrous plate. Comparing the two dimensional magnetic field components of leakage, the imaginary part of the y-component parallel to the induced magnetic field was found to be suitable for detecting the back-side pits. 相似文献

Oxyfuel combustion is seen as one of the major options for CO2 capture for future clean coal technologies. The paper provides an overview on research activities and technology development through a fundamental research underpinning the Australia/Japan Oxyfuel Feasibility Project. Studies on oxyfuel combustion on a pilot-scale furnace and a laboratory scale drop tube furnace are presented and compared with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) predictions. The research has made several contributions to current knowledge, including; comprehensive assessment on oxyfuel combustion in a pilot-scale oxyfuel furnace, modifying the design criterion for an oxy retrofit by matching heat transfer, a new 4-grey gas model which accurately predicts emissivity of the gases in oxy-fired furnaces has been developed for furnace modelling, the first measurements of coal reactivity comparisons in air and oxyfuel at laboratory and pilot-scale; and predictions of observed delays in flame ignition in oxy-firing. 相似文献

In minimal change nephrotic syndrome, podocyte vesicle transport is enhanced. Adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) anchors microtubules to cell membranes and plays an important role in vesicle transport. To clarify the role of APC in vesicle transport in podocytes, nephrotic syndrome was induced by puromycin amino nucleoside (PAN) injection in mice expressing APC1638T lacking the C-terminal of microtubule-binding site (APC1638T mouse); this was examined in renal tissue changes. The kidney size and glomerular area of APC1638T mice were reduced (p = 0.014); however, the number of podocytes was same between wild-type (WT) mice and APC1638T mice. The ultrastructure of podocyte foot process was normal by electron microscopy. When nephrotic syndrome was induced, the kidneys of WT+PAN mice became swollen with many hyaline casts, whereas these changes were inhibited in the kidneys of APC1638T+PAN mice. Electron microscopy showed foot process effacement in both groups; however, APC1638T+PAN mice had fewer vesicles in the basal area of podocytes than WT+PAN mice. Cytoplasmic dynein-1, a motor protein for vesicle transport, and α-tubulin were significantly reduced in APC1638T+PAN mice associated with suppressed urinary albumin excretion compared to WT+PAN mice. In conclusion, APC1638T mice showed reduced albuminuria associated with suppressed podocyte vesicle transport when minimal change nephrotic syndrome was induced. 相似文献

Bridging stresses that result both from elastic tractions and frictional interlocking in the wake of an advancing crack have been evaluated quantitatively via in situ Raman microprobe spectroscopy in a toughened Si3 N4 polycrystal. Crack opening displacement (COD) profiles of bridged cracks also have been measured quantitatively via scanning electron microscopy to substantiate the piezospectroscopic determination of microscopic stresses via Raman spectroscopy. The highest spatial resolution of the stress measurement in the Raman apparatus was 1 µm, as dictated by the optical lens that was used to focus the laser on the sample. Measurements of the bridging stresses were performed both at fixed sites (as a function of the applied load) and along the profile behind the crack tip (under a constant load). Rather high stress values (i.e., 0.4-1.1 GPa) were measured that corresponded with unbroken ligaments that bridged the crack faces in elastic fashion, whereas frictional sites were typically under a lower tensile stress (0.1-0.5 GPa). Mapping the near-tip COD profile and the bridging stresses at the (normal) critical load for catastrophic fracture enabled us to calculate the crack-tip toughness and to explain the rising R -curve behavior of the material. From a comparison with conventional fracture-mechanics data, a self-consistent view of the mechanics that govern the toughening behavior of the Si3 N4 polycrystal could be obtained. In particular, crack bridging is proven to be, by far, the most important mechanism that contributes to the toughening of polycrystalline Si3 N4 materials. 相似文献
