Neural Network Feedback Control: Work at UTA’s Automation and Robotics Research Institute

This is an outline of research in neural networks for feedback control done since the mid 1990s at the Automation and Robotics Research Institute (ARRI) of The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). It shows how the developments of Intelligent Control Systems based on neural networks have followed three main generations. This statement provides a short, broad-brush perspective on the development of intelligent neural feedback controllers.     

Forecasting of Turkey's net electricity energy consumption on sectoral bases

In this study forecast of Turkey's net electricity energy consumption on sectoral basis until 2020 is explored. Artificial neural networks (ANN) is preferred as forecasting tool. The reasons behind choosing ANN are the ability of ANN to forecast future values of more than one variable at the same time and to model the nonlinear relation in the data structure. Founded forecast results by ANN are compared with official forecasts.

西门子工业控制网络在棒材连轧生产线的应用

本文通过对包钢棒材连轧线的工业控制网络的由分体到整体的介绍,将西门子公司的三级控制网络(Profibus-DP网络、MPI网络、工业以太网)思想做了一个全面的说明.通过与现场实际相结合,使人们对这一概念有了更加清晰的认识.文章最后还结合作者的一些体会作了总结.     

Generation of adaptive gait patterns for quadruped robot with CPG network including motor dynamic model

This paper describes the generation of adaptive gait patterns using new Central Pattern Generators (CPGs) including motor dynamic models for a quadruped robot under various environments. The CPGs act as the flexible oscillators of the joints and adjust joint angles to required values. The CPGs are interconnected with each other and sets of their coupling parameters are adjusted by a genetic algorithm so that the quadruped robot can realize stable and adequate gait patterns. Generation of gait patterns results in the formation of the CPG networks suitable for the formation of not only a straight walking pattern but also of rotating gait patterns. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed CPG networks are effective for the automatic adjustment of the adaptive gait patterns for the tested quadruped robot under various environments. Furthermore, the target tracking control based on image processing is achieved by combining the general gait patterns. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 冶金坑内矿多级机站通风系统设计

本文简要论述了冶金坑内矿多级机站通风系统设计的基本原则及计算方法，并给出一个设计实例。     

ATM网络中漏桶流量控制特性的研究

本文对ＡＴＭ（异步转移模式）网络中话音、数据和图像业务的漏桶流量控制特性进行了研究。计算机模拟结果表明，由于各种业务内在的相关性不同，相应的漏桶流量控制特性有较大的差异。漏桶参数的选择对于各种业务具有不同的公平性，因而应根据业务的特性来设计漏桶参数。     

全双极WTA模型的改进及其实现

提出了一种相似度的新定义，使双极ＷＡＴ模型的实现更加简洁明了。增加一个阈值使系统能判别非存储模式或因其信息量过低而无法鉴定的输入模式，阈值的大小与要求的容错能力有关。双极相似度及阈值通过光学方法实现。阈值的光学实现使系统仍具有照明不变性。通过电路实现取及ＷＴＡ网络的迭代运算。
