The effect of microwave roasting parameters (300, 450 and 600 W; 5, 10 and 15 min) on acrylamide content in sorghum grain was determined using High Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)-photo diode array (PDA) detector coupled with C-18 column. Samples roasted at 300 and 450 W did not possess acrylamide, whereas 600 W (15 min) favoured formation of 2740.19 µg/kg of acrylamide, levels far exceeding the defined European Union (EU) limits. The chronic daily intake (CDI) for acrylamide through consumption of such grain flour was 3.25–9.5-fold higher to Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) defined high exposure limits. The margin of exposure (MOE) values ranged from 4.3 to 12.76 and from 11.07 to 32.27 for neoplastic and neurological effects, respectively, demonstrating high exposure and serious health concerns associated with dietary intake of this toxicant. Two-dimensional anti-ferromagnetic solid 3He on graphite, so called 4/7 phase, is a highly frustrated magnetic system and its ground state is considered to be a gapless spin liquid. Then how is the behavior in high magnetic fields? We tried to observe the magnetization curve at around 1 mK in high magnetic fields up to 10 T, using a Faraday-type magnetometer. To eliminate a large background signal from graphite as a substrate and copper as a thermal link, a double gradient coil system is employed to produce opposite field gradients in two regions equidistant from the field center. Preliminary results of the 4/7 phase on graphite show no saturated magnetization even at 1 mK and 10 T, suggesting the existence of magnetization plateau. 相似文献

Optimal use of scarce water resources is the prime objective for water resources development projects in the developing country like India. Optimal releases have been generally expressed as a function of reservoir state variables and hydrologic inputs by a relationship which ultimately allows the policy/water managers to determine the water to be released as a function of available information. Optimal releases were obtained by using optimal control theory with inflow series and revised reservoir characteristics such as elevation area capacity table, zero elevation level as input in this study. Operating rules for reservoir were developed as a function of demand, water level and inflow. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) with back propagation algorithm, Fuzzy Logic and decision tree algorithms such as M5 and REPTree were used for deriving the operating rules using the optimal releases for an irrigation and power supply reservoir, located in northern India. It was found that fuzzy logic model performed well compared to other soft computing techniques such as ANN, M5P and REPTree investigated in this study. 相似文献

The total dose radiation effects are studied on CMOS devices consisting of n- and p-MOSFETs and logic circuits. The devices on a test chip were designed in two micron, double metal, single polysilicon, p-well CMOS technology and fabricated through the Metal-Oxide Semiconductor Implementation System (MOSIS) foundry. Effects of 1.5 keV AlKa X-ray irradiation on the threshold voltage of n- and p-MOSFETs, propagation delay time and voltage transfer characteristic of an inverter were observed and the results are presented. Degradation in performance of an inverter chain, a three stage ring oscillator and a four-by-four shift register was also observed with increasing radiation dose levels. Fossil fuel depletion and its adverse impact on global warming is a major driving force for a recent upsurge in the development of hybrid electric vehicles technologies. This paper is a conglomeration of the recent literature in the usages of an energy storage system and power conversion topologies in electric vehicles (EVs). An EV requires sources that have high power and energy density to decrease the charging time. Commonly used energy storage devices in EVs are fuel cells, batteries, ultracapacitors, flywheel, and photovoltaic arrays. The power output from energy storage sources is conditioned to match load characteristics with the source for maximum power delivery. A DC-DC converter topology performs this task by way of transforming voltage under the condition of power invariance. In addition, power electronics is also required to power DC/AC motors efficiently with precise control as these motors provide tractive efforts and acts as prime movers. This paper therefore brings out a critical review of the literature on EV's power conversion topologies and energy storage systems with challenges, opportunities and future directions by systematic classification of EVs and energy storage. 相似文献
