A new reference material (RM), RM 8504, has been prepared for use as a diluent oil with Aroclors in transformer oil Standard Reference Materials (SRMs) 3075 to 3080 and SRM 3090 when developing and validating methods for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) as Aroclors in transformer oil or similar matrices. SRMs 3075-3080 and SRM 3090 consist of individual Aroclors in the same transformer oil that was used to prepare RM 8504. A unit of RM 8504 consists of one bottle containing approximately 100 mL of transformer oil. No additional constituents have been added to the oil.  相似文献

Materials with the ability to harness multiple sources of energy from the ambient environment could lead to new types of energy-harvesting systems. It is demonstrated that nanocomposite films consisting of zinc oxide nanostructures embedded in a common paper matrix can be directly used as energy-conversion devices to transform mechanical and thermal energies to electric power. These mechanically robust and flexible devices can be fabricated over large areas and are capable of producing an output voltage and power up to 80 mV and 50 nW cm(-2) , respectively. Furthermore, it is shown that by integrating a certain number of devices (in series and parallel) the output voltage and the concomitant output power can be significantly increased. Also, the output voltage and power can be enhanced by scaling the size of the device. This multisource energy-harvesting system based on ZnO nanostructures embedded in a flexible paper matrix provides a simplified and cost-effective platform for capturing trace amounts of energy for practical applications.  相似文献

Materials selection in product design is a complex decision-making activity due to the necessity of embodying technical requirements into those related to customer, safety, environmental, economic and social aspects. Technological developments have been increasing materials options, thus demanding the manipulation of large amounts of information and data to identify them. This study proposes a monitoring procedure to identify and select materials in innovative product design using patent information. It applies bibliometric techniques to select relevant patents using two different retrieval strategies: (i) driven by the function and (ii) by the application of the product. A case study to search for a more sustainable composite material for aircraft interior structures reveals distinct sets of data and types of technical solutions depending on the patent retrieval strategy used. The function-based patent retrieval strategy found more disruptive solutions, whereas the application-based strategy identified mainly improvements in current technology developed by partners of the aeronautical industry.  相似文献

Research into the Determination of the Ductility of Structural Elements in Plant Construction by Measurement on Model Vessels of Near Industrial Size— Tests on Boiler Plate Vessels (Kesselblech H 1) at Temperatures Down to ?80°C The paper deals with a research program of the Dechema working group “Materials for Chemical Apparatus”, by which an attempt is made to correlate ductility as a characteristic materials property with ductility changes to be expected in structural elements and structures. On a low temperature test stand model containers are loaded internally until bursting and the deformations of a container bottom having a complex shape are measured. Deformation and bursting pressure vs. temperature support the preliminary conclusion that the embrittlement temperature for such structures is lower than the notch toughness transition temperature of the material. Corroboration of this finding requires further work with other materials and structures.  相似文献

A new type of large area metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) system for the growth of high quality and large size ZnO materials is introduced. Materials properties of the un-doped, n- and p-doped ZnO epi-films grown on sapphire substrates by this MOCVD system are studied by various techniques, including high resolution X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV-Visible optical transmission (OT), photoluminescence (PL) and photoluminescence excitation (PLE), synchrotron radiation X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (SR-XPS). The wurtzite (w) ZnO crystal structures grown with primary (0002) orientation were identified. Results have shown the high crystalline quality of MOCVD-grown ZnO films, indicated by the narrow XRD, PL and Raman line widths, strong PL signals, sharp OT edge and smooth surface. In particular, high p-type carrier concentration of > 1017 cm− 3 have been achieved besides the good n-type doping in ZnO.  相似文献
