Integrated-optic double-ring resonators with a wide free spectral range (FSR) of 100 GHz are fabricated using GeO2-doped silica waveguides with a high relative refractive index difference (Δ) of 1.5%. The resonators are composed of two ring resonators comprising small ring waveguides with radii of 1.75 and 2.0 mm. The double-ring resonator module exhibited a wide FSR of 98.0 GHz, a finesse of higher than 138, a low crosstalk of less than -11.7 dB, and a low insertion loss of 6.1 dB. The measured FSR of 98.0 GHz is wider than any previously reported ring resonator composed of optical waveguides  相似文献

This paper shows-both experimentally and through Monte Carlo simulation-that in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) lightwave networks coherent crosstalk in network nodes causes multipath fading on a seconds to minutes time scale. The result of such fading is that the bit error rate (BER) fluctuates significantly as a function of time. We find that for eight crosstalk paths a signal-to-crosstalk ratio (SXR) greater than 40 dB is required to make this fading negligible. The simulation also shows that for 32 crosstalk paths an SXR as much as 55 dB is required to combat the crosstalk penalty  相似文献

本文设计了一种紧凑型、宽通带、宽阻带的微带带通滤波器。该滤波器的设计是基于带有两个开路调节支节的正方谐振环。基于紧凑性的考虑,改变了传统方环谐振滤波器的馈电点和开路调节支节的位置,以便对谐振环进行折叠处理。这种改变并不影响谐振环的奇偶模特性。在输入和输出端口,通过两个叉指耦合结构对滤波器进行馈电,这种馈电方式增加了滤波器阻带的带宽和抑制度。滤波器的中心频率为4GHz,相对带宽为45%,通带内的回波损耗小于-12dB,群时延小于0.8ns,1-2.9GHz阻带抑制度大于12dB,5.3~7GHz阻带抑制度大于18dB。  相似文献

提出了一种基于多模环形谐振器实现的平衡式带通滤波器, 其主要由加载了电阻和短路枝节的环形谐振器和两对平衡端口构成.所提出的滤波器能够以单个谐振器获得差模的双模响应, 并且具有结构简单, 共模抑制高, 带宽可进行有限控制(4% ~ 9%)的优点.为验证理论预期的可实现性, 在RO4003C基板上设计了一个工作在1.87 GHz的平衡式带通滤波器.实验结果表明该滤波器的20-dB阻抗匹配带宽为8.9%, 中心频率处的插入损耗为0.86 dB, 在1 ~ 3 GHz频率范围内的共模抑制大于30 dB.  相似文献

Suppression of the polarization drift of optical fiber ring resonators is investigated both theoretically and experimentally by employing anisotropy in a polarization maintaining fiber ring. A general analytic expression for the transmission of the device is derived allowing the fiber modes to exhibit any combination of polarization crosstalk, differential loss or differential coupling. The analysis shows that a moderate level of ring anisotropy, such as that of 10 dB in line polarizer or polarization selective coupler, is sufficient to greatly suppress the drift of the eigenstates of polarization (ESOPs), finesse and resonant point, restoring the device's suitability for most practical applications. An inevitable consequence of introducing ring anisotropy is the loss of orthogonality of the ESOPs. This effect limits the anticipated benefit in high sensitivity applications. A practical anisotropic PMRR is demonstrated by inserting a thin film of nematic liquid crystal between the two halves of the polished coupler of the ring. Micro ring resonator(MRR) filters based on a silicon on insulator(SOI) nanowire waveguide are fabricated by electron beam photolithography(EBL) and inductive coupled plasma(ICP) etching technology.The cross-section size of the strip waveguides is 450×220 nm2,and the bending radius of the micro ring is around 5μm.The test results from the tunable filter based on a single ring show that the free spectral range(FSR) is 16.8 nm and the extinction ratio(ER) around the wavelength 1550 nm is 18.1 dB.After thermal tuning,the filter’s tuning bandwidth reaches 4.8 nm with a tuning efficiency of 0.12 nm/℃Meanwhile,we fabricated and studied multi-channel filters based on a single ring and a double ring.After measurement,we drew the following conclusions: during the signal transmission of multi-channel filters,crosstalk exists mainly among different transmission channels and are fairly distinct when there are signals input to add ports.  相似文献

We report an electrically tunable fiber laser featuring a 50-channel wavelength switching capability with a 0.2 nm linewidth and -20 dB crosstalk. The laser consists of an Er-doped fiber resonator and an electro-optic TE-TM convertor used as a wavelength tunable filter. It allows wavelength tuning over a spectral range of 10 nm with a tuning rate of 0.05 nm/V and a linewidth of 0.06 nm.  相似文献

采用简单的有机-无机混合的溶胶-凝胶方法制备了折射率在一定范围内可调的波导材料,并利用其制备了平面波导环形谐振腔器件。波导结构呈现倒脊形,其制备工艺首先是利用感应耦合等离子体刻蚀技术(ICP)在二氧化硅衬底上刻蚀波导结构的凹槽,然后再沉积波导薄膜。利用光谱仪对器件的传输特性进行了测量,观测到具有10 dB对比度,自由光谱范围0.182 nm周期性谐振现象,结合环形谐振腔的传输特性,得到环形腔具有较低的传输损耗1.7 dB/cm。同时对环形谐振腔的温度特性进行了测量,得出波导材料的热光系数为-1.54×10-4/℃。  相似文献

By using silicon-on-insulator(SOI) platform, 12 channel waveguides, and four parallel-coupling one-microring resonator routing elements, a non-blocking four-port optical router is proposed. Structure design and optimization are performed on the routing elements at 1 550 nm. At drop state with a power consumption of 0 m W, the insertion loss of the drop port is less than 1.12 d B, and the crosstalk between the two output ports is less than-28 d B; at through state with a power consumption of 22 m W, the insertion loss of the through port is less than 0.45 d B, and the crosstalk between the two output ports is below-21 d B. Routing topology and function are demonstrated for the four-port optical router. The router can work at nine non-blocking routing states using the thermo-optic(TO) effect of silicon for tuning the resonance of each switching element. Detailed characterizations are presented, including output spectrum, insertion loss, and crosstalk. According to the analysis on all the data links of the router, the insertion loss is within the range of 0.13—3.36 d B, and the crosstalk is less than-19.46 d B. The router can meet the need of large-scale optical network-on-chip(ONo C).  相似文献

基于方环形谐振器设计了一款超宽带滤波器.输入/输出馈线与谐振器间采用零度馈电方式以增强滤波器的整体耦合.实测结果显示,该超宽带滤波器带内最小插损约为-1.93dB,最大回波损耗约为-9.45dB,相对带宽达到110%,在12.70GHz附近存在一个传输零点,改善了滤波器的选频性能及杂散抑制性能.实测结果与仿真结果较为吻合.  相似文献

In this letter, a Balun-bandpass filter (BPF) is proposed by using a dual-mode ring resonator. The Balun-BPF is not a simply combined or integrated component of a BPF and a Balun but a single BPF with the balun function. We obtained the proper balanced outputs and two-pole BPF characteristic by symmetrically placing the output ports at lambda/2 distance from each other on the dual-mode ring resonator. The fabricated Balun-BPF has a bandwidth of 40 MHz and an insertion loss of 2.4 dB at a center frequency of 2.45 GHz. The differences between the two outputs are 180-184deg in phase and within 1dB in magnitude. The measured frequency responses agree well with simulated ones.  相似文献

A theoretical analysis of four-port optical fiber ring and loop resonators using a 3×3 fiber directional coupler and degenerate two-wave mixing is presented. Expressions for the circulating (resonant) and output fields and intensities, as well as resonance conditions for two slightly different configurations of the loop resonator and for the ring resonator are obtained. It is found that the use of the degenerate two-wave mixing greatly improves the characteristics of these resonators. For example, the crosstalk of the ring or loop resonators when used as a wavelength division demultiplexer can be significantly deduced  相似文献

Novel bidirectional optical cross-connect structures using a single arrayed waveguide grating router and tunable fibre Bragg gratings have been proposed for interleaved multiwavelength ring networks. In the proposed structures, each wavelength channel is independently switched by tuning the centre wavelength of the gratings. The feasibility of the cross-connectors has been experimentally demonstrated. A homodyne crosstalk less than -26 dB and a backscattering suppression ratio of -35 dB have been obtained  相似文献

基于基片集成波导设计了一种正交分裂环谐振器,并证明了该谐振器具有双负特性。将该超结构放置于双层基片集成波导中,得到了具有频率选择特性的四端口耦合结构。将加载正交分裂环谐振器的耦合结构与广义切比雪夫滤波器相结合,设计了一种X波段SIW广义切比雪夫超结构滤波器。仿真结果表明,设计的滤波器满足了中心频率为10.519 GHz、相对带宽为0.25%、通带内的插入损耗小于-1 dB、回波损耗小于-20 dB的技术指标。  相似文献

An eight-channel add-drop cross-grid vertically coupled microring resonator (VCMRR) filter is proposed and demonstrated. The cross grid comprises a grid-like array of buried channel waveguides which perpendicularly cross through each other, VCMRRs at each of the cross-grid nodes serve as the wavelength selective add-drop filters. Measured crosstalk levels at the crossings are typically less than -30 dB. Rings with a nominal radius of 10 μm are used to achieve a free-spectral range of 20 nm and optical bandwidths of 1 nm, while changes of the radii in increments of 50 nm lead to a nominal channel spacing of 5.7 nm  相似文献

A photonic microwave (MW) channel selective filter was demonstrated incorporating a 1times2 switch based on two tunable polymeric resonators with different free-spectral ranges (FSRs). Each resonator plays a role as an ON-OFF switch through the thermooptic effect, consisting of two cascaded rings with an electrode formed on one of them. The optical signal carrying the MW signal is routed to either port of the switch and detected to exhibit the filtered output at the frequency determined by the FSR of the corresponding resonator. When the channel centered at 10 GHz was chosen, the extinction ratio was ~30 dB, the bandwidth 1 GHz, and the electrical power consumption 4.1 mW. And for the other channel located at 20 GHz, we have achieved the extinction ratio of ~30 dB, the bandwidth of 2 GHz, and the required power of 8.0 mW. Finally, the crosstalk between the selected and blocked channels was higher than 24 dB.  相似文献

为提高带通滤波器的选择特性,文章基于逆开口谐振环(CSRR)的构造思路,首先提出一种菱形逆开口谐振环(DSCSRR),并对其左手特性加以证明;然后详细研究了改变其结构参数对DSCSRR传输特性的影响程度;最后设计了一款基于DSCSRR带通滤波器并对所设计的滤波器进行了实物加工和实验测量,测量结果与仿真结果表明,所设计滤波器的中心频率为4.02GHz,选择特性为170dB/GHz,带内抑制小于15dB。该新型滤波器不仅具有选择特性高,而且具有体积小、设计简单等优点。  相似文献

A novel microwave dual-mode elliptic-function bandpass filter with one coupling gap structure is proposed. This filter has a 4.7% bandwidth at 1.805 GHz with 1.73 dB insertion loss. The filter provides less field perturbation of the ring resonator than conventional filters. Without the output coupling gap between the feed line and the ring resonator, a low insertion loss has been obtained. We report on improved filter characteristics of microring resonators (MRs) used as add-drop multiplexers for integrated photonic circuits. By introducing an asymmetrical coupling of the signal waveguides to the resonator, a higher throughput attenuation and drop efficiency is attained. The throughput attenuation is the decisive property for the application of microrings in photonic networks since it determines the crosstalk between drop signal and add signal at the throughput channel of an add-drop multiplexer. Experimental results are compared with analytical relations. MRs with a free-spectral range of 24 nm are fabricated on silicon-on-insulator substrates. A crosstalk reduction by 8.8 dB due to asymmetrical coupling is demonstrated.  相似文献
