The surface finish of a mechanical part plays an important role as it determines the part’s field performance. The machining parameters and conditions governing the part surface finish also impact on the other machining process performance indicators such as tool wear, tool life, cycle time, machining cost, and undesirable emissions of aerosols and metallic particles. In today’s metal cutting industry, a major concern is the occupational safety and health hazard associated with cutting fluids usage and metallic particle emission. It is therefore necessary to determine machining conditions that could improve the part surface finish while maintaining low the aerosol emission. In this research study, statistical methods are used to study the surface finish parameters and the metallic particle emissions during milling of aluminum alloys (6061-T6, 7075-T6, and 2024-T351) with two coated carbide tools (TiCN and a multilayer TiCN?+?Al2O3?+?TiN). Following an implementation of multilevel design of experiment, machining trials and determination of mains most influential factors, surface responses and desirability functions are used to determine the best process operational conditions and windows. The results of this research demonstrate that TiCN-coated tool generates fewer respirable airborne particles during machining than multilayers TiCN?+?Al2O3?+?TiN-coated tool. Overall, it is shown that the use of TiCN coating tool provides a better opportunity for an environmentally benign dry machining along with improvement on surface quality. 相似文献

In recent years, a lot of extensive research work has been carried out in drilling operations for achieving better hole quality. Drilling operation is one of the machining processes, and it widely used in aeronautical and automotive industries for assembling the parts. The surface roughness is one of the significant factors in drilling operation because the poor surface finish will affect the material condition during the assembly. The spindle speed and feed rate are the important factors to affect the surface finish. In addition, the detailed analysis of the thrust force is also to be investigated for characterizing the cutting process. However, for examining the machining characteristics more trial runs are required, and it increases the time and cost of the experiment. In this paper, the integration of fuzzy logic (FL) with response surface methodology (RSM) has been introduced to reduce the cost and the time consumption for investigation. The low, middle, and upper levels of spindle speed with low and upper levels of feed rate combinations were examined on cutting force and surface finish through the experimental setup with the systematic manner. The FL model for thrust force and surface finish were obtained from the collected experimental data. The FL model has developed another two combinations of data without experimentation through universal partitioning. The results show that the predicted FL values are within the range of experimental value. Therefore, the FL model values were selected for further investigation with RSM. The result of FL-RSM model values are also within the range of experimental value. The proposed FL-RSM model and FL model are validated with experimental results. Finally, the validated results show that hybrid FL-RSM produces the effective output than the FL model. 相似文献

This paper presents the influence of cutting parameters on thrust force, surface finish, and burr formation in drilling Al2219/15SiCp and Al2219/15SiCp-3Gr composites. The composites were fabricated using the liquid metallurgy method. The tools used were commercially available carbide and coated carbide drills. The results revealed that feed rate had a major influence on thrust force, surface roughness, and exit burr formation. Graphitic composites exhibit lesser thrust force, burr height, and higher surface roughness when compared to the other material. The reduced thrust force and burr height is attributed to the solid lubricating property of the graphite particles. The higher surface roughness value for Al2219/15SiCp-3Gr composite is due to the pullout of graphite from the surface. The chips formed when machining graphitic composites are more discontinuous when compared to SiCp reinforced composites and hence advantageous. 相似文献

通过对飞机大部件接合交点孔制造过程进行分析,提出了一种采用动力切削设备替代传统人工方式,实现飞机大部件接合交点孔精加工的技术,并进行了试验验证。结果表明,采用自动进给钻结合精加工工装的方案有效、可靠,能够满足大部件叉耳配合交点孔精加工的技术要求。鉴于飞机大部件叉耳配合交点孔对接精加工工装定位形式受产品结构因素影响较大,建议产品设计人员在满足飞机强度和疲劳等因素的基础上,采用用于固定精加工工装的工艺孔,该工艺孔可在部件状态单独制出,从而实现精加工用工装的准确定位。 相似文献

针对大多数现有CAD/CAM系统还不能自动获取并处理尺寸公差、形位公差、表面粗糙度等制造信息,在完成产品设计后无法自动生成相应工艺规划的现状,着重研究对零件设计模型补偿面、体加工特征自动生成毛坯模型后,基于毛坯模型自动提取面、体制造特征的工艺约束信息参数,毛坯模型总体信息参数,结合制造资源数据库、工艺知识库完成工艺规划。将毛坯模型逆变换为设计模型,实现了加工工序过程的拟实验证。 相似文献

In finish machining, even with high precision machines, the influence of the dynamic behaviour of the machine tool and workpiece on the surface quality can be significant. This is especially true during interrupted cutting or the machining of ultra-hard materials. A method for modelling the influence of the machine dynamics, as part of an overall machining simulation framework, is presented here. Finally, two examples of the use of this simulation framework are presented and compared to typical machined surfaces and to simulation methodologies presented in the literature. 相似文献

基于Cimatron软件CAD/CAM集成环境,通过对加工工艺的分析比较得出对平缓型曲面可以用“WCUT”进行粗、精加工,对凹凸型曲面先用“WCUT”进行粗加工,再用“SRFPKT”进行精加工,给出了一种加工效率高、成型质量好的数控加工方法。以实例对其进行分析,并给出了数控加工模拟效果图,证明该方法既可提高加工效率,又可获得较好的表面加工质量。 相似文献
