Si3N4 ceramics with different BaTiO3 contents have been fabricated by pressureless sintering in a N2 atmosphere at 1680°C for 2 h. Al2O3 and Nd2O3 were used as sintering additives to promote the densification of Si3N4 ceramics. The effect of BaTiO3 addition on the densification, mechanical properties, phase compositions, microstructure, and dielectric properties of Si3N4 ceramics was investigated. The relative density and flexural strength of Si3N4 ceramics increased with the addition of BaTiO3 up to 15 wt% and then decreased, while the dielectric constant increased continuously as the BaTiO3 contents increased. The dielectric constant of Si3N4 ceramics can be tailored in the range from 8.42 to 12.96 by the addition of 5 wt%‐20 wt% BaTiO3. Meanwhile, these Si3N4 ceramics all had flexural strength higher than 500 MPa.  相似文献

Based on orthogonal experimental results of porous Si3N4 ceramics by gel casting preparation, a three-layer back propagation artificial neural network (BP ANN) was developed for predicting the performances of porous Si3N4 ceramics. The results indicated that BP ANN was a very useful and accurate tool for the prediction and optimization of porous Si3N4 ceramics performances. By using the developed ANN model, the influences of the compositions on performances of porous Si3N4 ceramics were investigated, and some important conclusions were drawn as follows: for the flexural strength of Si3N4 ceramics, solid loading has an optimum value where can achieve a maximum value, and the optimum solid loading decreases with the increase of monomer content; the porosity of sintering body monotonically decreases with the increase of solid loading, and it increases with monomer content; the porosity of sintering body monotonically increases with the increase of the ratio of crosslinking agent to monomer.  相似文献

Si3N4 ceramic is one of the most promising microwave metallurgy furnace materials because of the outstanding mechanical, relatively low dielectric properties and excellent thermal shock resistance. However, the difficult sintering of Si3N4 ceramics extremely restrict their large-scale application in the field of refractories for microwave metallurgy. In this work, silicon nitride-phosphate ceramics were fabricated by introducing aluminum phosphate or chromium phosphate aluminum into Si3N4 ceramics at 1500 °C. The effect of the amount of aluminum phosphate and chromium phosphate aluminum on sintering performance and dielectric properties was investigated. The results showed that the addition of aluminum phosphate or chromium phosphate aluminum could promote sintering, and the mechanical and dielectric properties of Si3N4 ceramics were efficiently improved. The Si3N4-aluminum phosphate composites exhibited better sintering performance (higher density and mechanical property) than that of Si3N4-chromium phosphate aluminum composites. Meanwhile, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss of Si3N4-chromium phosphate aluminum composites were better than Si3N4-chromium phosphate aluminum composites.  相似文献

The high-temperature mechanical and dielectric properties of Si2N2O ceramics are often limited by the introduction of a sintering aid. Herein, dense Si2N2O was prepared at 1700 °C by hot-pressing oxidized amorphous Si3N4 powder without sintering additives. A homogeneous network with short-range order and a SiN3O structure was formed in the oxidized amorphous Si3N4 powder during the hot-pressing process. Si2N2O crystals preferentially nucleated at positions within the SiN3O structure and grew into rod-like and plate-like grains. Fully dense ceramics with mainly crystalline Si2N2O and some residual amorphous phases were obtained. The as-prepared Si2N2O possessed a good flexural strength of 311 ± 14.9 MPa at 1400 °C, oxidation resistance at 1500 °C, and a low dielectric loss tangent of less than 5 × 10−3 at 1000 °C.  相似文献

In the 5G era, the dielectric materials used in microwave electronic components must have not only have good microwave dielectric characteristics but also excellent structural characteristics. Li2MgTi3O8 (LMT) ceramics have excellent microwave dielectric properties; however, their low bending strength limits their further applications in the 5G era. In this work, the dielectric properties and bending strength of LMT ceramics were optimized by the addition of Si3N4 reinforcing phase using a solid-phase method, and the effects of Si3N4 addition on the sintering properties, microscopic structure, crystalline phase, dielectric properties and bending strength of ceramics were investigated. The X-ray diffraction pattern indicates that all ceramics exhibit spinel structure. Combined with the phenomenon of grain reduction in the SEM graph, it indicates that the addition of Si3N4 can inhibit the grain growth and achieve the purpose of fine-grain strengthening. The dispersion enhancement of second phase particles is also one of the reasons for the increase of bending strength. LMT ceramics doped with 0.5 wt% Si3N4 exhibited the maximum bending strength after sintering at 1050 °C for 4 h, which was 76.97% higher than that of pure LMT ceramics. In addition, the ceramics exhibited outstanding dielectric properties: a dielectric constant of 23.20, quality factor of 49344 GHz, and temperature coefficient of ?5.90 ppm/°C. The high bending strength and good microwave dielectric properties indicate that Si3N4-added LMT ceramics can be effectively applied in the 5G era.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of SiO2 content in the Y2O3–Al2O3 additive system on the microstructure, mechanical and dielectric properties of silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramics. The total sintering additive content was fixed at 8 wt% and the amount of SiO2 was varied from 0 to 7 wt%. The crystalline phases of the samples were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. Complete α-to-β transformation of the Si3N4 occurred during sintering of all of the samples, which indicated that the phase transformation was unaffected by the SiO2 content. However, the microstructures showed that the aspect ratio of the β-Si3N4 grains decreased and the residual porosity increased with increasing SiO2 content. Additionally, the flexural strength and the dielectric constant decreased with increasing SiO2 content because of the residual porosity and the formation of the Si2N2O phase via a reaction of SiO2 with Si3N4.  相似文献

Silicon nitride (Si3N4) slurries with high solid loading, low viscosity and good stability is difficulty prepared, due to low intrinsic surface charge and a large refractive index (RI) difference between Si3N4 powder and resin. In this paper, the curing behavior of Si3N4 slurry with different functional group and RI of resin monomer were systematically researched, and then the kind and optimum content of dispersant were investigated. Subsequently, a high solid loading Si3N4 slurry (44 vol%) with good curing behavior, low viscosity and favorable stability was successfully prepared. Lastly, the dense Si3N4 ceramic parts were fabricated by the suitable Si3N4 slurry (44 vol%) via stereolithography. After debinding and sintering process, the relative density and flexural strength of Si3N4 ceramic were 98.28% and 800 ± 27.28 Mpa, respectively.  相似文献

In this paper, a honeycomb Si3N4 ceramic was fabricated by 3D printing with a well-preserved structure. The effects of Si3N4 content on the rheological properties of Si3N4/sol–silica ink and the printing resolution of products were investigated. The microstructure, phase composition, liner shrinkage rate, and fracture behavior of printed samples before and after sintering were systematically characterized in detail. The results showed that the modified inks had the optimized rheological properties, and the stress–shear rate curves corresponding to each slurry could be well described by Bingham and Herschel–Bulkley fluid models. The corresponding slump rates of the printed samples with different Si3N4 to sol–silica mass ratios were all lower than 4%, and the linear shrinkage rate of all of the samples after sintering was below 20%. The fracture behavior under compressive loading of the honeycomb Si3N4 ceramics tended to be non-catastrophic fractures both before and after sintering. The compressive strengths of all of the printed samples decreased with the increase of the Si3N4 content, and the highest compressive strength of the honeycomb ceramics could reach 131.2 MPa after sintering at 1600°C, which was about 366.9% higher than that of the samples in green state prior to the sintering.  相似文献

Wave-transmitting materials are a kind of multi-functional materials that protect the normal operation of communication and guidance systems of spacecraft in harsh environments. In this paper, we fabricate a broadband microwave transparent Si3N4-SiO2 composite ceramic with excellent performance through digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology. The influences of sintering temperature on the weight increase rate, density, dimensional shrinkage, phase composition, microstructure, bending strength and dielectric properties of Si3N4-SiO2 ceramic were all systematically studied. The strength of Si3N4-SiO2 ceramic sintered at 1350 ℃ was 77 ± 5 MPa. The relative permittivity of the ceramic is within the range of less than 4, and the loss tangent can be below 0.003. The 3D printed Si3N4-SiO2 ceramic material exhibited excellent wave-transparent performance.  相似文献

In this work, Si3N4 ceramics were fabricated through an aqueous gelcasting method using a low–toxic monomer called N, N–dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) followed by gas pressure sintering at 1850 °C for 2 h under 6 MPa N2 atmosphere. The effect of solid loading on performance of slurries, green and sintered bodies was investigated systematically. The results show that the slurries with a solid loading as high as 50 vol% (viscosity 0.17 Pa.s at 100 s–1) were achieved. With the increase of solid loading (30–50 vol%), the green bodies exhibited a monotonically decreased, however high enough in general, flexural strength of 16.50–11.52 MPa, which was comparable to that of widely–used neurovirulent acrylamide (AM) gelling system. In regard to the sintered bodies, increasing solid loading significantly promoted sintering and improved mechanical properties and thermal conductivity as a result of the increased density, bimodal distribution structure, as well as suitable interfacial bonding strength. The best performance parameters of Si3N4 ceramics, bulk density of 3.25 g/cm3, apparent porosity of 0.67%, flexural strength of 898.92 MPa, fracture toughness of 6.42 MPa m1/2, Vickers hardness of 2.81 GPa, and thermal conductivity of 34.69 W m–1 K–1, were obtained at 50 vol% solid loading. This work renders low–toxic DMAA gelling system promising prospect in preparation of high–performance Si3N4 ceramics by gelcasting.  相似文献

Ba0.67Sr0.33TiO3 (BST) ceramics with highly improved dielectric performance were fabricated by a novel direct coagulation casting via high valence counter ions (DCC-HVCI) method. The influence of solid loading on densification behavior, micromorphology, and dielectric performance of the samples was investigated. With the increase of solid loading from 40 to 50 vol%, the maximum densification rate of BST ceramics increased from 0.090 to 0.122 s−1, and the densification temperature decreased from 1424 to 1343 °C, which indicated that high solid loading could promote the densification behavior of samples during sintering. BST ceramics fabricated by the DCC-HVCI method showed uniform grain size and microstructure, which was beneficial for the dielectric properties of BST ceramics. Samples obtained from 45 vol% suspensions possessed the lowest dielectric permittivity (εr ≈ 2801), and the dielectric loss (tanδ≈0.0262) was about 1/10 of that of dry-pressed samples (tanδ≈0.301), which could be attributed to the composition homogenization.  相似文献

A new gelling system based on the polymerization of hydantion epoxy resin and 3,3′-Diaminodipropylamine (DPTA) was successfully developed for fabricating silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramics. The effects of pH value, the dispersant content, solid volume fraction and hydantion epoxy resin amount on the rheological properties of the Si3N4 slurries were investigated. The relative density of green body obtained from the solid loading of 52 vol% Si3N4 slurry reached up to 62.7%. As the concentration of hydantion epoxy resin increased from 5 wt% to 20 wt%, the flexural strength of Si3N4 green body enhanced from 5.3 MPa to 31.6 MPa. After pressureless sintering at 1780 °C for 80 min, the sintered samples exhibited the unique interlocking microstructure of elongated β-Si3N4 grains, which was beneficial to improve the mechanical properties of Si3N4 ceramics. The relative density, flexural strength and fracture toughness of Si3N4 ceramics reached 97.8%, 687 MPa and 6.5 MPa m1/2, respectively.  相似文献

In this study, high-strength and wave-transmission silicon nitride (Si3N4) composites were successfully developed via selective laser sintering (SLS) with cold isostatic pressing (CIP) after debinding and before final sintering, and the optimal moulding process parameters for the SLS Si3N4 ceramics were determined. The effects of the sintering aids and secondary CIP on the bulk density, porosity, flexural strength, fracture toughness, and wave-transmitting properties of the Si3N4 composites were studied. The results showed that the increased CIP pressure was beneficial to the densification of SLS Si3N4 ceramics and improved their mechanical properties. However, the wave-transmitting performance decreased as the CIP pressure increased. The Si3N4 ceramics prepared by the moulding of sample S11 were more in line with the performance requirements of the radomes. To obtain good comprehensive performance, an additional 3% of interparticle Y2O3 was added to the pre-printed mixed powder of granulated Si3N4 particles and resin and the secondary CIP pressure was adjusted to 280 MPa. After sintering, the bending strength, fracture toughness, and dielectric constant of the Si3N4 ceramics were 651 MPa, 6.0 MPa m1/2, and 3.48 respectively. This study provides an important method for preparing of Si3N4 composite radomes using SLS process.  相似文献

In this study, the mechanism of the effect of ZrB2 on phase transformation of Si3N4 at a low temperature and the influence of its content on Si3N4-based ceramics were investigated. Previous study has shown that oxide impurities, i.e., B2O3 and ZrO2 on ZrB2 particles, alone cannot contribute to phase transformation of Si3N4 at a low temperature. But, the introduction of 0.5 vol% ZrB2 into Si3N4 ceramics can promote the α-β phase transformation of Si3N4, which is confirmed to be the role of boron by comparison of the experimental results obtained from the addition of 0.5 vol% Zr and 0.5 vol% B. Increasing the ZrB2 content from 0 vol% to 2.5 vol% intensifies the α-β phase transformation while decreasing the α phase content of Si3N4-based ceramics, accompanied by a slight grain growth, leading to a decrease in hardness. At the same time, aspect ratio and the quantities of elongated grains per square micron increase, and thus the fracture toughness increases significantly. However, when the content of ZrB2 increases to 5 vol%, the Si3N4-based ceramics not only have a substantial decrease in hardness, but also the fracture toughness fails to be effectively improved due to high porosity and the decrease in aspect ratio and the quantity of elongated grains per square micron. The current study demonstrates that the dense Si3N4-based ceramics with high hardness and toughness (hardness ∼19.9 ± 0.2 GPa, toughness ∼6.27 ± 0.19 MPa m1/2) can be prepared successfully at 1600 °C by introducing 0.5 vol% ZrB2.  相似文献

Herein, hierarchical porous SiCnw-Si3N4 composite ceramics with good electromagnetic absorption properties were prepared. A porous Si3N4 matrix with different pore structures was first prepared by gelcasting-pressureless sintering (G-PLS) and gelcasting combined with particle stabilized foam-pressureless sintering (G-PSF-PLS). SiCnw was then introduced by catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CCVD). An increase in solid loading (25–40 vol%) decreased apparent porosity (47.7–41.3%) and improved flexural strength (142.19–240.36 MPa) and fracture toughness (2.25–3.68 MPa·m1/2). The addition of foam stabilizer propyl gallate (PG, 0.5–1.0 wt%) significantly increased apparent porosity (73.2–86.4%) and realized large-sized spherical pores, reducing flexural strength (58.23–38.56 MPa) and fracture toughness (0.75–0.41 MPa·m1/2). High apparent porosity and large-sized pores facilitated the introduction of SiCnw. The 25 vol% sample exhibited a reflection loss of ? 14.67 dB with an effective absorption bandwidth of 3.47 GHz, suggesting a development potential in the electromagnetic wave absorption field.  相似文献

Silicon nitride-based composite ceramics with different contents of magnesium titanate have been fabricated via gas pressure sintering method. The phase compositions, microstructure, mechanical performances and dielectric properties of the composite ceramics were investigated. The density of the Si3N4-based composite ceramics firstly increased with additive of magnesium titanate powder up to 5 wt% and then gently decreased, and the mechanical properties firstly increased and then declined. Besides, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss increased with the increase of magnesium titanate contents. For the Si3N4-based composite ceramics with 5 wt% magnesium titanate powders, the flexural strength, elastic modulus, dielectric constant and dielectric loss reached 451 MPa, 274 GPa, 7.65, 0.0056, respectively. These results suggested that the magnesium titanate was beneficial for the improvement of mechanical performances and dielectric constant of Si3N4-based composite ceramics.  相似文献

Herein, a low–toxic N, N–dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) system was used in preparation of porous Si3N4 ceramics by aqueous gelcasting, and variations in microstructure and properties with solid loading and calcination temperature were systematically investigated. In the considered solid loading range of 28–44 vol%, all the slurries exhibited superior rheological properties (≤145 mPa⋅s at 95.40 s−1 for 44 vol% solid loading) perfectly suitable for casting. With increasing solid loading, a decreased bulk density (1.71–1.69 g/cm3), volume shrinkage (37.73–13.77%) and flexural strength (46.56–26.75 MPa) of green bodies were obtained, exhibiting better mechanical properties than those derived from the conventional acrylamide (AM) system. Regarding Si3N4 ceramics with various solid loadings, the increase in calcination temperature favored the phase transformation α→β–Si3N4 and β–Si3N4 growth, however, the increased solid loading exhibited an inhibiting effect on those since mass transport in gas phase was blocked due to the disruption of pore connectivity. The resulting microstructure changes imparted Si3N4 ceramics increasing flexural strength (110.36–367.88 MPa), fracture toughness (2.54–5.03 MPa⋅m1/2), as well as decreasing porosity (54.21–41.05%) and pore size (0.38–0.33 μm). This work demonstrates the potential research value of DMAA system in preparing high–performance porous Si3N4 ceramics through gelcasting technique.  相似文献

The emergence of digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing technology creates favorable conditions for the preparation of complex structure silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramics. However, the introduction of photosensitive resin also makes the Si3N4 ceramics prepared by 3D printing have low density and poor mechanical properties. In this study, high-density Si3N4 ceramics were prepared at low temperatures by combining DLP 3D printing with precursor infiltration and pyrolysis (PIP). The Si3N4 photocurable slurry with high solid content and high stability was prepared based on the optimal design of slurry components. Si3N4 green parts were successfully printed and formed by setting appropriate printing parameters. The debinding process of printed green parts was further studied, and the results showed that samples without defects and obvious deformation can be obtained by setting the heating rate at .1°C/min. The effect of the PIP cycle on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Si3N4 ceramics was studied. The experimental results showed that the mass change and open porosity of the samples tended to be stable after eight PIP cycles, and the open porosity, density, and bending strength of the Si3N4 ceramics were 1.30% (reduced by 97%), 2.64 g/cm3 (increased by 43.5%), and 162.35 MPa.  相似文献

Direct ink writing (DIW) and low-temperature sintering methods were applied to prepare Si2N2O-Si3N4 ceramics for radome materials. Lattices of Si-SiO2 green body were printed by DIW with 78 wt % solid portion of water-based Si-SiO2 slurry, in which silicon particles and silica fume were used as the solid portion and Methylcellulose (HPMC) was used as the dispersant. Effects of HPMC addition on stability and silica fume content on rheological properties of the slurry were studied, respectively. The pseudoplastic mechanism of the slurry was analyzed. The Si-SiO2 green bodies were sintered at 1250 °C–1400 °C in nitrogen. The effect of temperature on phase composition, microstructure, mechanical and dielectric properties of samples was investigated. With the HPMC addition of 0.12 wt% and the silica fume proportion of 30 wt% in solid portion, a stable and pseudoplastic slurry with the yield stress of 110.9 Pa was obtained, which is suitable for DIW. With the decrease of initial holding temperature, more N2 enters the sample and reacts with silicon and silica fume, promoting the generation of Si2N2O and Si3N4. The optimal condition yields Si2N2O-Si3N4 ceramics with apparent porosity of 42.73%, compressive strength of 24.7 MPa, dielectric constant of 4.89 and loss tangent of 0.0054. It is found that columnar Si3N4 comes from a direct reaction between silicon and N2, and fibrous Si2N2O is mainly generated by the reaction between silicon, SiO(g), and N2 through the chemical vapor deposition mechanism. Good dielectric properties are achieved due to high porosity, high proportion of Si2N2O phase and no residual silicon.  相似文献

Cutting performances of silicon nitride (Si3N4) ceramic cutting tools with and without boride additive (2.5 vol% ZrB2 or TiB2) prepared by hot-pressing at 1500°C were investigated. Due to the α- to β-Si3N4 phase transformation and low densification temperature, boride-containing Si3N4 ceramics with high hardness and high toughness were obtained. The turning tests showed that the effective cutting lengths of the Si3N4–2.5 vol% TiB2 ceramic (∼2480 m) and Si3N4–2.5 vol% ZrB2 ceramic (∼2200 m) were higher than the monolithic Si3N4 ceramic (∼1780 m). As the toughness was improved while maintaining relative high hardness, the cutting performances of the boride-containing Si3N4-based inserts were improved by adding 2.5 vol% ZrB2 or TiB2. The improved cutting performance indicated that the boride-containing Si3N4 ceramics are expected to be used in the field of ceramic cutting tools.  相似文献
