simulation has been developed to assign the search range (SR) for studying this idea. The model of a simplified 300 mm AMHS
was built using eM-Plant and Design Expert to design experiments and analyse the results. In phase I, the number of WF and IV in the system at the time of dispatching will affect the distance of the vehicle’s empty trip (DVemp). Further, the SR was assigned and evaluated based on the average and standard deviation of DVemp under different numbers of WF and IV in phase II. The results indicated that the SR significantly affects the performance, and a longer SR used in a light system

The recognition of the desire for punctual delivery of products has lead to the use of the service level as a common performance criterion for measuring the proportion of products that meet due dates specified by the customer. To successfully increase the service level, a manufacturing system may respond more quickly to orders by reducing the levels of in-process inventory in the system and hence decrease throughput times. This paper examines the use of the recently developed Control Point Policy (CPP) in improving service levels in re-entrant, ‘make-to-order’ manufacturing systems and compares its effectiveness with that of the Critical Ratio scheduling rule. Simulation studies have been undertaken to provide insight into how and when to apply the CPP policy within such environments with results indicating that, in cases requiring small storage areas between machines, the CPP results in better service level performance. 相似文献

This paper proposes an efficient vehicle reassignment dispatching rule and demonstrates the effectiveness of the rule using an overhead hoist transport (OHT) system for a semiconductor fabrication line. The OHT system has more than 150 OHT vehicles and its target vehicle utilization level is 70%. It allows direct delivery such that an inter-bay wafer movement can be accomplished by a single vehicle. Simulation analysis is used to compare the proposed rule with the shortest travel distance first (STDF) rule and existing reassignment-based rules. While STDF rule requires 170 vehicles for the target utilization level, the proposed vehicle reassignment rule requires only 161 vehicles. At the same time, the lead time and the variance of the lead time have been significantly reduced.
