The perovskite oxides are promising catalysts for VOCs combustion. The purpose of this work is to comparatively evaluate catalytic activity of some simple perovskites with various cationic compositions in combustion reactions of acetone, benzene, propane and Pb free gasoline. Nanometer particles of nominal composition: GdAlO3, SrMnO3, SrCoO3 and MnFeO3 were prepared by the sol–gel self-combustion method followed by heat treatment at 1000 °C in air. The samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms. All samples have perovskite type structure and the crystallite size is in the range of 40–89 nm. Catalytic testing evidenced that the degree of the catalytic activity varied considerably with the perovskite composition. Among the four perovskites, SrMnO3 is generally the most active catalyst at low temperatures. MnFeO3 and SrCoO3−x catalysts proved high catalytic activity in acetone conversion only. The change in the catalytic activity as a result of the modification of the perovskite composition may be explained either by the different reactivity of the active oxygen species involved in the catalytic oxidation, or by the variation in the number of active sites on the perovskite surface determined by the specific structural properties of each perovskite. 相似文献

The compressive mechanical properties of two kinds of closed-cell aluminum foam–polymer composites (aluminum–epoxy, aluminum–polyurethane) were studied. The nonhomogeneous deformation features of the composites are presented based on the deformation distributions measured by the digital image correlation (DIC) method. The strain fluctuations rapidly grow with an increase in the compressive load. The uneven level of the deformation for the aluminum–polyurethane composite is lower than that for the aluminum–epoxy composite. The region of the preferentially fractured aluminum cell wall can be predicted by the strain distributions in two directions. The mechanical properties of the composites are investigated and compared to those of the aluminum foams. The enhancement effect of the epoxy resin on the Young’s modulus, the Poisson’s ratio and the compressive strength of the aluminum foams is greater than that of the polyurethane resin. 相似文献

Thermo-mechanical pulp (TMP) fibres made from beech wood were produced using increasing refiner gap widths and thus with increasing fibre length and coarseness. Fibres (60% by weight) were compounded in an internal kneading mixer using high-density polyethylene as the matrix and injection-moulded. Fibre lengths and length/width ratios were determined (a) before processing and (b) after injection-moulding and Soxhlet extraction using the optical FibreShape system. An increase in fibre length resulted in a decrease in water absorption and an improvement in flexural strength and modulus of elasticity of the wood–plastic composites (WPC). However, flexural strength of the WPC with TMP fibres was not improved compared to WPC with wood flour when maleic anhydride-grafted polyethylene (MAPE) was used as a coupling agent. After injection-moulding, differences in length of the various TMP fibre types were minor. Fibre geometry before processing strongly influences the water absorption and flexural properties of the composite. Fibre treatment with emulsified methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (EMDI) resin before compounding was shown to be equally efficient in reducing water absorption and improving flexural strength as the addition of MAPE during the compounding step. 相似文献

Electrochemical water splitting to hydrogen is considered as a promising approach for clean H2 production. However, developing highly active and inexpensive electrocatalysts is an important part of the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, we present a multifaceted atom (sp2-and sp-hybridized boron) doping strategy to directly fine-modify the electronic structures of the active site and the HER performance by the density functional theory calculations. It is found that the binding strength between the Co atom and the B doped graphyne nanosheets can be enhanced by doping B atoms. Meanwhile, the Co@B1-GY and Co@B2-GY catalysts exhibit good thermodynamic stability and high HER catalytic activity. Interestingly, the Co@B2-GY catalyst has an ideal HER performance with the ΔGH* value of −0.004 eV. Moreover, the d-band center of the Co atoms is upshifted by the sp2-or sp-hybridized B dopants. The concentrations of the sp-hybridized B atoms have a positive effect on the electrons transformation of the Co atoms. The interaction between the H and Co atoms becomes strong with the increase of the concentrations of the sp-hybridized B atoms and thus the corresponding catalysts show sluggish HER kinetics. This investigation could provide useful guidance for the experimental groups to directly and continuously control the catalytic activity towards HER by precisely doping multifaceted atoms. 相似文献

BACKGROUND: There are two different routes for vitamin B12 biosynthesis, which results in discrepancies and uncertainties of the dissolved oxygen (DO) concentration for vitamin B12 fermentation. In this paper, the DO control strategy was explored for industrial vitamin B12 fermentation by Pesudomonas denitrificans in 120000‐L fermenter. RESULTS: A DO‐stat strategy was first successfully scaled up from a 9000 L fermenter to a 120 000 L fermenter. Then a multi‐stage DO control strategy was further established in the 120 000 L fermenter, in which the DO level was shifted from 8–10% (20–48 h) to 2–5% (49–106 h) and below 2% (107–168 h) by gradually reducing the rate of aeration and agitation. As a result, 198.80 mg L?1 of vitamin B12 was obtained, which was significantly higher than those obtained under the fermentations with one‐stage DO control. CONCLUSIONS: The comparatively low DO level was favorable for vitamin B12 biosynthesis, but it would have an extremely negative effect on cell growth. Compared with the low DO level maintained at all times of the fermentation process, a multi‐stage DO control strategy could not only increase the biomass but also improve vitamin B12 biosynthesis. The present work is aimed at developing a bioactive, corrosion resistant and anti bacterial nanostructured silver substituted hydroxyapatite/titania (AgHA/TiO2) composite coating in a single step on commercially pure titanium (Cp Ti) by plasma electrolytic processing (PEP) technique. For this purpose 2.5 wt% silver substituted hydroxyapatite (AgHA) nanoparticles were prepared by microwave processing technique and were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) methods. The as-synthesized AgHA particles with particle length ranging from 60 to 70 nm and width ranging from 15 to 20 nm were used for the subsequent development of coating on Cp Ti. The PEP treated Cp Ti showed both titania and AgHA in its coating and exhibited an improved corrosion resistance in 7.4 pH simulated body fluid (SBF) and 4.5 pH osteoclast bioresorbable conditions compared to untreated Cp Ti. The in vitro bioactivity test conducted under Kokubo SBF conditions indicated an enhanced apatite forming ability of PEP treated Cp Ti surface compared to that of the untreated Cp Ti. The Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method or antibiotic sensitivity test conducted with the test organisms of Escherichia coli (E. coli) for 24 h showed a significant zone of inhibition for PEP treated Cp Ti compared to untreated Cp Ti. 相似文献

Coptidis Rhizoma is the dried rhizome from the Coptis chinensis Franch. that has been shown to have a number of beneficial pharmacological properties including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer effects. However, the anti-cancer effects of Coptidis Rhizoma on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remain unclear. In this study, we investigated the anti-cancer properties of Coptidis Rhizoma ethanol extract (CR) in HCC Hep3B cells and in a xenograft mouse model. Our results showed that the CR significantly inhibited cell growth and induced apoptosis in Hep3B cells through increased expression of Bcl-2 associated x-protein (Bax) and cleavage of poly-ADP ribose polymerase (PARP), reduced expression of Bcl-2, and activated caspases. CR also increased the generation of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS), which caused a loss of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP, ΔΨm) and activation of the mitochondria-mediated intrinsic apoptosis pathway. Moreover, N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a ROS inhibitor, markedly blocked the effects of CR on apoptotic pathways. CR also induced the expression of light chain 3 (LC3)-I/II, a key autophagy regulator, whereas CR-mediated autophagy was significantly suppressed by NAC. In addition, pre-treatment with NAC perfectly attenuated the inhibition of cell invasion and migration of CR-stimulated Hep3B cells. Furthermore, oral administration of CR suppressed Hep3B tumor growth in xenograft mice without toxicity, alterations to body weight, or changes in hematological and biochemical profiles. Taken together, our findings suggest that CR has anti-tumor effects that result from ROS generation, and may be a potential pharmacological intervention for HCC. 相似文献

The present study focuses on the characterisation and evaluation of the fatigue behaviour of flax–epoxy composites. A better understanding of this behaviour allows the prediction of long-term properties to assess the viability and long-term durability of these materials. The purpose of this work is to systematically compare the tension–tension fatigue behaviour of flax fibre composites for one random mat, six textile architectures and two laminate configurations, which are used in a wide range of applications. The fibre architecture was found to have a strong effect on the fatigue behaviour, where higher static strength and modulus combinations present the best fatigue characteristics. They have a delayed damage initiation and increased fatigue life as well as a reduced damage propagation rate combined with higher energy dissipation in the early stages of fatigue loading. 相似文献
