Graphene has been predicted to develop a magnetic moment by proximity effect when placed on a ferromagnetic film, a promise that could open exciting possibilities in the fields of spintronics and magnetic data recording. In this work, the interplay between the magnetoresistance of graphene and the magnetization of an underlying ferromagnetic insulating film is studied in detail. A clear correlation between both magnitudes is observed but through a careful modeling of the magnetization and the weak localization measurements, that such correspondence can be explained by the effects of the magnetic stray fields arising from the ferromagnetic insulator is found. The results emphasize the complexity arising at the interface between magnetic and 2D materials.  相似文献

The spectral performance, sensitiveness to ignition stimuli and burning rate of bi‐spectral flare formulations based on tetrazole containing fuels, 5‐phenyl‐1H‐tetrazole, 5,5′‐(1,4‐phenylene)bis(1H‐tetrazole) and 5‐(4‐nitro‐phenyl)‐1H‐tetrazole, utilizing potassium perchlorate as the oxidizer, are reported. The formulation based on 5‐(4‐nitro‐phenyl)‐1H‐tetrazole yielded the highest spectral efficiency in the β‐band (44.1 J g−1 sr−1). The formulation based on 5‐phenyl‐1H‐tetrazole gave the highest color ratio (θβ/α=6.8) and was the least sensitive.  相似文献

The formation of an energy‐barrier at a metal/molecular semiconductor junction is a universal phenomenon which limits the performance of many molecular semiconductor‐based electronic devices, from field‐effect transistors to light‐emitting diodes. In general, a specific metal/molecular semiconductor combination of materials leads to a fixed energy‐barrier. However, in this work, a graphene/C60 vertical field‐effect transistor is presented in which control of the interfacial energy‐barrier is demonstrated, such that the junction switches from a highly rectifying diode at negative gate voltages to a highly conductive nonrectifying behavior at positive gate voltages and at room temperature. From the experimental data, an energy‐barrier modulation of up to 660 meV, a transconductance of up to five orders of magnitude, and a gate‐modulated photocurrent are extracted. The ability to tune the graphene/molecular semiconductor energy‐barrier provides a promising route toward novel, high performance molecular devices.  相似文献

An implementation of a 16 state, rate 8/9 six-dimensional (6-D) 8PSK rotationally invariant trellis decoder for use in a concatenated codec is described. The concatenated codec allows transmission of STM-1 signals (at the 155.52 Mb/s information rate) over a 72 MHz satellite transponder. The inner trellis decoder is used with an outer (255,239) RS block decoder. The trellis decoder operates at 165.93 Mb/s and currently has an implementation loss of only 0.2 dB. The concatenated codec achieves a bit error ratio of 10?10 at an Eb/N0 of 8.2 dB (assuming an ideal modem and AWGN channel). Details are given of many Viterbi decoding ‘tricks’ that were used in order to implement the main functions of the decoder on two 10,000 gate equivalent CMOS programmable gate arrays.  相似文献

The implementation and performance of a turbo/MAP decoder are described. A serial block MAP decoder operating in the logarithm domain is used to obtain a very-high-performance turbo decoder. Programmable gate arrays and EPROMs allow the decoder to be programmed for almost any code from four to 512 states, rate 1/3 to rate 1/7 (higher rates are achieved with puncturing) and interleaver block sizes to 65,536 bits. Seven decoding stages were implemented in parallel. For rate 1/3 and 1/7 16-state codes with an interleaver size of 65,536 bits and operating at up to 356 kbit/s the codec achieved an Eb/N0 of 0⋅32 and −0⋅30 dB respectively for a BER of 10−5. BERs down to 10−7 were also achieved for a small increase in Eb/N0. An efficient implementation of a continuous MAP decoder is also presented, along with a synchronization technique for turbo decoders. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A 2L-dimensional multiple phase-shift keyed (L×MPSK) signal set is obtained by forming the Cartesian product of L two-dimensional MPSK signal sets. A systematic approach to partitioning L×MPSK signal sets that is based on block coding is used. An encoder system approach is developed. It incorporates the design of a differential precoder, a systematic convolutional encoder, and a signal set mapper. Trellis-coded L×4PSK, L×8PSK, and L×16PSK modulation schemes are found for 1⩽L⩽4 and a variety of code rates and decoder complexities, many of which are fully transparent to discrete phase rotations of the signal set. We investigate the capacity of various intersymbol interference (ISI) channels with additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). Previous papers showed a minimum E/sub b//N/sub 0/ of -4.6 dB, 3 dB below the capacity of a flat channel, is obtained using water-pouring capacity formulas for the 1+D channel. However, these papers did not take into account that the channel power gain can be greater than one when water-pouring is used. We present a generic power normalization method of the channel frequency response, namely, peak bandwidth normalization (PBN), to facilitate the fair capacity comparison of various ISI channels. Three types of ISI channel, i.e., adder channels, RC channels, and magnetic recording channels, are examined. By using our channel power gain normalization, the capacity curves of these ISI channels are shown.  相似文献

For high rate k/n convolutional codes (k/n > 0.5), a trellis based implementation of a posteriori probability (APP) decoders is less complex on the dual code trellis owing to its branch complexity (2n-k ) being lower than the code trellis (2k). The log scheme used for APP decoders is not attractive for practical implementation owing to heavy quantisation requirements. As an alternative, presented is an arc hyperbolic tangent (AHT) scheme for implementing the dual- APP decoder. The trellis based implementation of this AHT dual APP decoder is discussed and some fundamental differences between primal APP and dual APP decoders that have an effect on a quantised implementation are reported.  相似文献

This paper deals with a posteriori probability (APP) decoding of high-rate convolutional codes, using the dual code's trellis. After deriving the dual APP (DAPP) algorithm from the APP relation, its trellis-based implementation is addressed. The challenge involved in practical implementation of a DAPP decoder is then highlighted. Metric representation schemes similar to the log domain used for log-APP decoding are shown to be unattractive for DAPP decoding due to quantization requirements. After explaining the nature of the DAPP metrics, an arc hyperbolic tangent (AHT) scheme is proposed and its equivalent arithmetic operations derived. By using an efficient approximation, an addition is translated to an addition in the AHT domain. Efficient techniques for normalization and extrinsic log-likelihood ratio (LLR ) calculation are presented which reduce implementation complexity significantly. Simulation results with different high-rate codes are given to show that the AHT-DAPP decoder performs similarly to a log-APP decoder and at the same time performs better than a decoder for a punctured code. A fully fixed-point model of an AHT-DAPP decoder is shown to perform close to an optimum decoder. The decoding complexity of the log-APP and AHT-DAPP decoders are listed and compared for several rate-k/(k+1) codes. It is shown that an AHT-DAPP decoder starts to be less complex from a code rate of 7/8 . When compared against a max-log-APP decoder, the AHT-DAPP decoder is less complex at a code rate of 9/10 and above.  相似文献
