While the use of amorphous solid dispersions to improve aqueous solubility is well documented, little consideration has traditionally been given to the finished dosage form. The objective of this study was to evaluate the dissolution performance of amorphous solid dispersions containing a dispersed superdisintegrant with binding properties. KinetiSol® dispersing was used to thermally process hypromellose acetate succinate-based compositions containing the drug substance nifedipine (NIF) and a highly compressible grade of low-substituted hydroxypropyl cellulose (New Binder Disintegrants; NBD-grade). Solid-state analysis demonstrated that compositions were rendered amorphous during processing. Tablets containing intra-dispersion NBD were found to exhibit non-sink dissolution performance similar to milled intermediate, demonstrating excellent disintegration characteristics. Conversely, tablets without intra-dispersion NBD were found to release significantly less NIF during dissolution analysis due to particle agglomeration. It was determined that compressibility and particle wetting increased as the level of intra-dispersion NBD increased.  相似文献

Multilevel converters can essentially reduce harmonics even when their switching frequency is low. Among the various topologies of the multilevel converters, flying capacitor converters are considered to be promising converters for realizing high power density. However, the main circuit of the flying capacitor converters has many capacitors. Therefore, in this study, the volume of the capacitors in the flying capacitor converters is determined by taking into consideration the allowable ripple voltage and temperature rise in the capacitor. © 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A microgrid requires a stable supply of electric power and heat, which is achieved by the cooperative operation of two or more pieces of equipment. The equipment capacity and the operational method of the equipment were optimized using a newly developed orthogonal array-GA (genetic algorithm) hybrid method for an independent microgrid accompanied by a fuel cell cascade system, solar water electrolysis, battery, and heat storage. This type of system had not been hardly developed until now. The objective function of the proposed system was the minimization of the total amount of equipment and fuel cost over ten years. For the first step in the proposed analysis method, the capacity of each piece of equipment and the operational method, which are considered to be close to the optimal solution of the system, are combined using the orthogonal array and factorial-effect chart, which are an experimental design technique. In the next step, the combination described above provides the initial values to the GA, and the GA searches for the optimal capacity and operational method for each piece of equipment in question. Compared with a simple GA, the convergence characteristic improves greatly using the proposed analysis method developed in this study.  相似文献

The performance of a microcombustor thermoelectric generator device based on a thermopile using p-type Bi0.3Sb1.7Te3 (BST) and n-type Pt films has been investigated. The BST films were prepared by two different methods—pulsed laser deposition (PLD) and sputter deposition—on Si3N4/SiO2 multilayers on Si substrate. The ceramic catalyst combustor was patterned on the thermopile end on a thin membrane fabricated by back-side bulk etching of the silicon substrate. At 138°C the thermoelectric power factors of the PLD and sputter-deposited films were 3.6 × 10−3 W/mK2 and 0.22 × 10−3 W/mK2, respectively. The power from the generator with the sputter-deposited film was 0.343 μW, which was superior to that of the device with the PLD film, which provided 0.1 μW, for combustion of a 200 sccm flow of 3 v/v% hydrogen in air.  相似文献

Sample disturbance caused by difference in sampling tube geometry was evaluated by two nondestructive methods: the measurement of the residual effective stress (pr') by ceramic disc; and the use of the bender element to ascertain the shear wave velocity (Vs), and thus the maximum shear modulus (GBE). Samples were measured under atmosphere, i.e., not under confined stress conditions. The soil samples were obtained from two sources: reconstituted Kasaoka clay prepared in the laboratory, and at the test site at Takuhoku, Hokkaido, Japan. Samplers with different geometrical designs, referring to the Japanese standard stationary piston sampler, were used for the model ground and field sampling. The geometrical effects of the sampling tube, for example, the thickness of the tube wall, the edge angle, and the existence of a piston were carefully examined. The quality of the samples taken with different samplers was evaluated by pr' and GBE, values which were normalized by the in situ vertical effective stress (σ'vo) and Gf measured by the seismic cone test in the field. It was found from these studies that pr'/σ'vo and GBE/Gf vary considerably due to the geometry of the sampler, with the edge angle of sampling tubes being the most important feature in obtaining high quality samples. The wall thickness, and thus, the area ratio of the sampler is not critical to the sample quality if the edge angle is sharp enough. The existence of the piston does not significantly influence the sample quality in field samples. Furthermore, the correlation between GBE and pr' was also investigated, and it was found that the two parameters are strongly dependent.  相似文献

In this research, the development of a bioethanol reforming system for fuel cells (FBSR: fuel cell with bioethanol steam reforming) using sunlight as a heat source was investigated. The system was investigated using the experimental result of catalyst performance, and numerical analysis. If ethanol purity is high, the production method of the bioethanol used for the proposal system will not be limited. The overall efficiency of the production of electricity and heat power of this system was determined by examining its thermal output characteristic. The FBSR was introduced into standard individual houses in Sapporo, Japan, for analysis. The amount of hydrogen production, the production‐of‐electricity characteristic, and the thermal output characteristic were examined using meteorological data on representative days in March and August. Compared with the representative day in March (28.0 MJ day−1), the solar radiation of the representative day in August (37.0 MJ day−1) is large. However, the amount of solar radiation fluctuation of the representative day in August in this analysis is large compared with the representative day in March. It depends for the overall efficiency of the system on the amount of solar radiation fluctuation rather than the amount of solar radiation. As a result, the overall efficiency of the system, defined as the rate of power and heat output compared with the amount of solar heat collected, was calculated to be 47.4 and 41.9% on the representative days in March and August, respectively. In an attempt to improve the guidelines for concurrent management of concomitant abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and symptomatic malignancy, a retrospective study was undertaken. A total of 186 AAA repairs were performed electively, and 25 patients (13.4%) had concurrent symptomatic malignancy from April 1986 to March 1997. Fourteen patients underwent a one-stage operation, including five abdominoperineal rectal resections, four subtotal gastrectomies, three total gastrectomies, and two right hemicolectomies. Eleven others underwent a two-stage operation, including four with total gastrectomy and left hemicolectomy followed by AAA repair, as well as two with right hemicolectomy and one with left hemicolectomy prior to AAA repair. There were no operative deaths or severe postoperative complications. Of the 25 patients, 22 (88.0%) are still alive during follow-up ranging from 8 months to 11 years. Our surgical approach to both lesions is as follows: (1) Using the transperitoneal approach alone, subtotal gastrectomy and abdominoperineal rectal resection can be safely done simultaneously. (2) Although total gastrectomy can also be performed concurrently, the approach used for each lesion is separate. (3) Colorectal resection is generally done separately. However, a one-stage operation can be performed using the thromboexclusion procedure for AAA repair in patients with right-sided colonic cancer or a temporary transverse colostomy for left-sided colorectal cancer.  相似文献

A regenerator-section terminating digital large-scale-integration chip for an STM-16 (2.5-Gbit/s synchronous optical network/synchronous digital hierarchy) regenerator has been developed using low-power bipolar technologies. The high-speed performance of bipolar devices enabled four or more chips, including a demultiplexer and a multiplexer, to be integrated into a single chip. The low-power dissipation of 557 mW, only about one-tenth that of previously reported chips, was achieved through the use of four design steps: one-chip integration architecture, power management, 2.5-V emitter-coupled logic, and power optimization  相似文献

The solidification of hydroxyapatite (HA:Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2) and its bonding with Magnesium (Mg) alloys (AZ31; Mg–3Al–1Zn) were achieved simultaneously by using a hydrothermal hot-pressing method at a low temperature as low as 150 °C with no special surface treatment of Mg alloy. A mixture of calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate and calcium hydroxide was used as a starting powder material for solidifying HA. 3-point bending tests were conducted to obtain an estimate of the fracture toughness for the HA/Mg interface as well as for the HA ceramics only. The fracture toughness tests showed that the induced crack from the pre-crack tip deviated from the HA/Mg interface and propagated into the HA. The fracture toughness determined on the bonded HA/Mg specimen was close to that of the HA ceramics only (0.30 MPam1/2).  相似文献

A completely energy-independent microgrid (green microgrid) was examined in this work with the aims of abating greenhouse gas emissions by spreading the use of green energy, providing energy backup systems for disaster, and increasing the energy utilization efficiency with the use of exhaust heat. This paper analyzed the energy supply to six houses in a cold region. The green microgrid consisted of photovoltaics, water electrolyzers, proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEFCs), and heat pumps. To investigate the operation method and the capacity of each piece of equipment in the arrangement, a distributed system with two or more sets of equipment and a central system with one set of equipment were analyzed by a genetic algorithm. By introducing the prior energy need pattern of a cold region into the proposed system, the operation method and equipment capacity based on the power and heat balance were clarified. By introducing the partial load performance of a water electrolyzer and a PEFC into the analysis program, the operation method of each system was investigated. It was found that the area of a solar cell of a distributed system could be reduced by 12% as compared to a central system.  相似文献
