A study of the performance of a radial diffuser for a multistage high-pressure pump

In this study, a high-pressure multistage pump used in combined cycle power plants is analyzed. The pump performance characteristics (differential head and efficiency) are numerically analyzed for different shapes of the radial diffuser. The design variables selected for the radial diffuser are number of vanes, diameter ratio (D₄/D₃), return channel outlet angel (α₆), and pressure recovery factor (C_p). The numerical analysis results showed that the differential head and efficiency are the highest when the diameter ratio is the highest. Further, it was observed that the differential head was lower when the return channel outlet angle was 60° than when it was 90°, because of preswirl at the diffuser outlet.     

Electrically reconstructable phonon crystal based on a coplanar waveguide with a nanodimensional ferroelectric film

Electrically reconstructable one-dimensional photon crystal, which is formed based on a coplanar wave guide with periodic modulation of wave resistance, is investigated. To ensure electrical reconstruction of the photon crystal, the coplanar wave guide is formed based on the Ba_0.8Sr_0.2TiO₃-magnesia heterostructure. The possibility of controlling the amplitude and phase-sensitive characteristics of the device under study is shown.     

Pursuit problem in distributed control systems

A pursuit problem in distributed parabolic control systems without mixed derivatives with variable coefficients is considered. The finite-difference method is used to solve this problem. Determination of the ultimate tensile strength of rocks by the unaixial compression test data

Based on the hypothesized material-independent relationship of the normal and shear stresses on the plane of shear, the authors have plotted an envelope of Mohr’s circles, that represents a rock strength condition in the compression stress domain. The relation of the maximal principal stresses extends to the tension domain as a hyperbola, and its parameters can be obtained only in the non-uniform triaxial compression tests. On the theory of differential pursuit games in distributed parameter systems

This paper is devoted to a study of controlled pursuit-evading games in systems of parabolic type. The corresponding differential equations have variable coefficients and do not contain mixed derivatives. Our main technical tool is the finite difference method. Sufficient conditions for successful pursuit completion are obtained.     

Information technology of variational automatic classification of objects and pattern recognition

A software information technology which employs a variational algorithm for automatic classification of objects with the use of a new partition quality functional based on uniformity measure is described. An algorithm for estimation using feature weights and representativeness of classes is also implemented.
