The reactivity of BaZrO3 with CO2 has been addressed as one of the major challenges with BaZrO3‐based electrolytes in protonic ceramic fuel cells. Here, we present a study of the effect of CO2 exposure on BaZrO3‐materials at elevated temperatures. Dense BaZr1?xYxO3?x/2 (x = 0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2) and BaCe0.2Zr0.7Y0.1O2.95 ceramics were prepared by sintering of powder prepared by spray pyrolysis. The Vickers indentation method was used to determine the hardness and estimate the fracture toughness of pristine materials as well as the corresponding materials exposed to CO2. Formation of BaCO3 on the surface of exposed ceramics was confirmed by X‐ray diffraction and electron microcopy. The reaction resulted in formation of Ba‐deficient perovskite at the exposed surface. The reaction with CO2 was most pronounced at 650°C compared to the other temperatures applied in the study. The reactivity was also shown to depend on the Y‐content and the grain size and was most pronounced for BaZr0.9Y0.1O2.95. The reaction with CO2 was observed to have a profound effect on the fracture toughness of the ceramics, demonstrating a depression of the mechanical stability of the materials. The results are discussed with respect to the chemical and mechanical stability of BaZrO3 materials, with particular emphasis on the composition and grain size.  相似文献

Recent years have witnessed considerable progress in the development of solar cells based on lead halide perovskite materials. However, their intrinsic instability remains a limitation. In this context, the interplay between the thermal degradation and the hydrophobicity of perovskite materials is investigated. To this end, the salt 1‐(4‐ethenylbenzyl)‐3‐(3,3,4,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,8,8‐tridecafluorooctylimidazolium iodide (ETI), is employed as an additive in hybrid perovskites, endowing the photoactive materials with high thermal stability and hydrophobicity. The ETI additive inhibits methylammonium (MA) permeation in methylammonium lead triiodide (MAPbI3) occurring due to intrinsic thermal degradation, by inhibiting out‐diffusion of the MA+ cation, preserving the pristine material and preventing decomposition. With this simple approach, high efficiency solar cells based on the unstable MAPbI3 perovskite are markedly stabilized under maximum power point tracking, leading to greater than twice the preserved efficiency after 700 h of continuous light illumination and heating (60 °C). These results suggest a strategy to tackle the intrinsic thermal decomposition of MAI, an essential component in all state‐of‐the‐art perovskite compositions.  相似文献

The photovoltaic(PV)market is currently dominated by silicon based solar cells.However technological diversification is essential to promote competition,which is the driving force for technological growth.Historically,the choice of PV materials has been limited to the three-dimensional(3D)compounds with a high crystal symmetry and direct band gap.However,to meet the strict demands for sustainable PV applications,material space has been expanded beyond 3D compounds.In this perspective we discuss the potential of low-dimensional materials(2D,1D)for application in PVs.We present unique features of low-dimensional materials in context of their suitability in the solar cells.The band gap,absorption,carrier dynamics,mobility,defects,surface states and growth kinetics are discussed and compared to 3D counterparts,providing a comprehensive view of prospects of low-dimensional materials.Structural dimensionality leads to a highly anisotropic carrier transport,complex defect chemistry and peculiar growth dynamics.By providing fundamental insights into these challenges we aim to deepen the understanding of low-dimensional materials and expand the scope of their application.Finally,we discuss the current research status and development trend of solar cell devices made of low-dimensional materials.  相似文献

Perovskite light emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have reached external quantum efficiencies (EQEs) over 21%. Their EQE, however, drops at increasing current densities (J) and their lifetime is still limited to just a few hours. The mechanisms leading to EQE roll‐off and device instability require thorough investigation. Here, improvement in EQE, EQE roll‐off, and lifetime of PeLEDs is demonstrated by tuning the balance of electron/hole transport into a mixed 2D/3D perovskite emissive layer. The mixed 2D/3D perovskite layer induces exciton confinement and beneficially influences the electron/hole distribution inside the perovskite layer. By tuning the electron injection to match the hole injection in such active layer, a nearly flat EQE for J = 0.1–200 mA cm?2, a reduced EQE roll‐off until J = 250 mA cm?2, and a half‐lifetime of ≈47 h at J = 10 mA cm?2 is reached. A model is also proposed to explain these improvements that account for the spatial electron/hole distributions.  相似文献

Meiotic defects derived from incorrect DNA repair during gametogenesis can lead to mutations, aneuploidies and infertility. The coordinated resolution of meiotic recombination intermediates is required for crossover formation, ultimately necessary for the accurate completion of both rounds of chromosome segregation. Numerous master kinases orchestrate the correct assembly and activity of the repair machinery. Although much less is known, the reversal of phosphorylation events in meiosis must also be key to coordinate the timing and functionality of repair enzymes. Cdc14 is a crucial phosphatase required for the dephosphorylation of multiple CDK1 targets in many eukaryotes. Mutations that inactivate this phosphatase lead to meiotic failure, but until now it was unknown if Cdc14 plays a direct role in meiotic recombination. Here, we show that the elimination of Cdc14 leads to severe defects in the processing and resolution of recombination intermediates, causing a drastic depletion in crossovers when other repair pathways are compromised. We also show that Cdc14 is required for the correct activity and localization of the Holliday Junction resolvase Yen1/GEN1. We reveal that Cdc14 regulates Yen1 activity from meiosis I onwards, and this function is essential for crossover resolution in the absence of other repair pathways. We also demonstrate that Cdc14 and Yen1 are required to safeguard sister chromatid segregation during the second meiotic division, a late action that is independent of the earlier role in crossover formation. Thus, this work uncovers previously undescribed functions of the evolutionary conserved Cdc14 phosphatase in the regulation of meiotic recombination.  相似文献

Herein, the fabrication of hard ceramic SiOC 3D microstructures by precursor synthesis, laser lithography, and pyrolysis combination is proposed. Precursors are hybrid organosilicon materials prepared via sol–gel method using trimethoxymethylsilane and 3-(trimethoxysilyl)propyl methacrylate, which has an acrylate functional group enabling laser photopolymerization process. Hard 3D ceramic structures (hardness up to ≈15 GPa, reduced elastic modulus ≈105 GPa) from soft organometallic derivatives are obtained after high-temperature pyrolysis under nitrogen atmosphere. The advantage of the proposed method is the absence of shrinkage defects leading to a uniform repetitive decrease in the volume of printed microstructures. In contrast to slurry-based printing technology, the proposed method is focused on homogeneous monolithic molecular resins resulting in visual smooth surfaces of prepared microstructures. Moreover, the printing resolution of the proposed method is substantially improved through the absence of predispersed ceramic microparticles in mixtures, which is a necessary element in a slurry-based technology.  相似文献

In this paper were performed analyses of the renewable energy impact on reduction of the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The pilot integrated biomass and solar water heating system at public institutions of Lithuania were analyzed. Purpose of this analysis was to evaluate systems′ efficiency of performance. It has been executed for measurements of produced energy, consumed water, and burned biofuel in summer and winter time. Analysis showed that heat load for domestic hot water is too low for biomass boiler for summer season. That problem could be improved with optimizing solar heating system. Modernization of this system could significantly reduce energy costs and emissions of carbon dioxide and demonstrate an integrated solution with bio and solar energies utilization in this system. Investigation shows that Lithuania can reduce GHG emission to 8 % in the period 2008–2012 by increasing use of biomass, solar, and others renewables and achieve the requirement of the Kyoto protocol.  相似文献

The incidence of classic Kaposi's sarcoma (CKS) has been reported to be high in Jewish populations living in Israel and in immigrants originating from the Mediterranean basin. No population-based reports are available on the incidence of CKS in Israeli Arabs. We analyzed the incidence of CKS cases occurring between 1970 and 1993 among Arabs living in Israel. Reporting systems were the Israel Cancer Registry, the medical documentation of all-Kaposi's sarcoma cases and the registry of human immunodeficiency virus-seropositive patients. Population figures were derived for census surveys (1972 and 1983) and inter-census data based on annual updating of demographic characteristics. Age-standardized incidence rates (ASR) were 6.87 per million in men and 2.18 per million in women. The ASR did not increase between 1970 and 1993 in either men or women. The age-adjusted male to female ratio was 2.0 below 50 years of age and 3.5 above it. The observation of a stable and relatively high incidence of CKS in Israel-born Arabs, comparable to other populations living in the Mediterranean basin, suggests that risk is related to geographical origin. CKS incidence, however, is lower than that in Israel-born Jews.  相似文献
