Design considerations for an inverter output filter to mitigate the effects of long motor leads in adjustable-speed drive (ASD) applications are presented. It is shown by analysis that, for a given length of cable, reducing the dv/dt of the pulsewidth modulated (PWM) inverter output voltage applied to the cable below a critical value will eliminate overvoltages due to voltage reflections. Design issues for a low-pass filter at the inverter output terminals to reduce the dv/dt of the inverter output pulse are examined in detail. The filter operation is verified for the entire variable frequency range of the inverter. The performance of the filter is evaluated through simulations and experimentally on a 460 V commercially available AC motor drive (PWM insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT)). When an induction machine is supplied with a voltage-source pulsewidth-modulation (PWM) inverter, a ringing voltage overshoot appears at motor terminals due to steep PWM voltage pulse propagation along the motor cable. It has been reported that in particular situations, when very long motor cables are used and retrofit installations, the overvoltage could stress motors with poor insulation. This paper presents a novel inverter output filter topology consisting of an LC filter which has the star point of the common-mode capacitors clamped to the + and - dc-link rails by the means of two diodes. The proposed filter drastically reduces the voltage overshoot at the motor terminals, thus reducing motor insulation stress. This is a cheap alternative to more known industrial solutions.  相似文献

在PWM逆变器供电的感应电机调速系统中,当逆变器与电机之间的电缆超过一定长度后,在电机端可能出现2倍于逆变器直流母线电压的过电压。本文从时域和频域分析了过电压的内在特点,给出了过电压振荡频率与系统参数的函数关系式,根据过电压的形成机理及其特点,以R-C滤波器为例,给出了详细的滤波器参数选取方法。仿真和实验结果证明了按照本文所提供的方法设计的滤波器能够很好地抑止电机过电压。  相似文献

The development of an advanced Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) has enabled high‐frequency switching operation and has improved the performance of PWM inverters for motor drive. However, the IGBT's high rate of dv/dt has adverse effects on motor insulation stress. In many motor drive applications, the inverter and motor are separated, requiring long motor feeds. The long cable contributes high‐frequency ringing at the motor terminal and results in high surge voltage which stresses the motor insulation. The inverter output filter and RDC snubber are the conventional method for reducing the surge voltage. In this paper, we propose a new low‐loss snubber to reduce the motor terminal surge voltage. The snubber consists of the series connection of chraging/discharging capacitor and the voltage‐clamped capacitor. At IGBT turn‐off, the snubber starts to operate when the IGBT voltage reaches the voltage‐clamped level. Since dv/dt is decreased by snubber operating, the peak level of the surge voltage can be reduced. Also the snubber operates at the IGBT voltage above the voltage‐clamped level, and the snubber loss is largely reduced compared with the RDC snubber. When an induction motor is energized from a pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter, through long connecting cables, its insulation system can be severely stressed. The high dv/dt voltage pulses at the output of the inverter cause traveling waves in the connecting cable between the inverter and the motor. When the traveling wave reaches the motor, a large impedance mismatch is present which leads to a reflected voltage wave that, when added to the incoming incident wave, can reach two times the inverter output voltage. The resulting overvoltage at the motor terminals stresses the insulation system and can lead to reduced motor life. Various output filter arrangements can be used to condition the inverter output voltage before it is applied to the cable. The advantage of adding output filtering is that the dielectric stress on the motor insulation and the inverter cable charging current can both be reduced. The major disadvantages of adding filtering is that they represent extra cost, they require extra mounting space, and they introduce extra losses in the system. The most commonly used types of inverter output filters are: simple output line inductors; output limit filter; sine wave output filter; and motor termination filter. A subsea adjustable-speed motor fed via a long cable in the range of several tens of kilometers between the converter and the motor are analyzed by simulations. Due to resonance, one critical frequency range occurs where significant generation of harmonics from the inverter should be avoided. A voltage source inverter is more feasible than a current source inverter since it is easier to modify the output waveform in order to avoid resonance problems. The resistive voltage drop in the long cable reduces the air-gap torque of the motor, particularly at low frequencies. This causes a problem for the start-up of the motor due to stiction torque. A start-up strategy is envisaged which is a compromise between voltage boost, inverter current, and transformer core dimensions. In normal operation mode the inverter voltage is proportional to the frequency. An open speed loop is used which keeps the system stable for potential load variations. In inverter‐converter driving systems for AC electric cars, the DC input voltage of an inverter contains a ripple component with a frequency that is twice the line voltage frequency, due to the use of a single‐phase converter. The ripple component of the inverter input voltage causes pulsations in the torque and current of driving motors. To decrease the pulsations, a beatless control method, which modifies the slip frequency depending on the ripple component, is applied to the inverter control. In the present paper, the beatless control method is analyzed in the frequency domain. In the first step of the analysis, transfer functions which revealed the relationship among the ripple component of the inverter input voltage, the slip frequency, the motor torque pulsation, and the current pulsation were derived with a synchronous rotating model of induction motors. An analytical model of the beatless control method was then constructed using the transfer functions. The optimal setting of the control method was obtained according to the analytical model. 研究了变频器在长线传输时产生的过电压问题,理论分析表明,电动机端过电压与PWM变频器采用的开关器件上升时间和PWM变频器与电动机之间的电缆长度密切相关:上升时间越短,电缆长度越长,电压反射现象越显著,过电压也越高。为消除PWM变频器长线传输时在电动机端产生的过电压等负面效应,提出了一种逆变器输出无源滤波器。实验研究验证了该滤波器能够将变频器输出的PWM电压滤成近似正弦波,从而有效地抑制电动机端的过电压。这种滤波器还可以有效降低共模电压。文中分析了这种滤波器的共模结构及其可以降低共模电压的原因,实验验证了设计思想的正确性。同一种结构的滤波器能够同时消除差模dv/dt和共模电压,减小了滤波器的体积和成本,结构简单,是一种消除逆变器输出负面效应的有效手段。  相似文献

由于PWM逆变器输出的脉冲电压在电机接线端子及绕组上产生了差模电压和共模电压;特别是当逆变器通过长线电缆与电机连接时,会在电机端产生电压反射现象,从而在电机端形成很大的过电压,危害电气设备的安全运行。通过对PWM逆变器驱动电机系统产生差模和共模电压机理分析的研究,在变频器输出端抑制电机端差模电压的RLC滤波器的基础上,提出一种改进型变频器输出端无源滤波器的方案,并给出了参数的设计方法。该滤波器可对共模及差模电压同时起到抑制作用,仿真结果验证了该滤波器设计方案的有效性,为变频器驱动系统滤波器设计研究提供理论依据。  相似文献

与传统的电压源型逆变器相比,矩阵变换器主要的缺点之一是在输入及输出电流为正弦时,输出输入电压传输比限制在0.866。为克服此缺点,在传统的矩阵变换器空间矢量调制方法的基础上,提出了一种提高电压增益的调制策略,进行了详细说明,概念清楚、控制简单,不需要复杂的数学计算。此调制策略没有使用零矢量,较传统方法换流数量减少,输出输入电压传输比提高到0.95以上,但输出电压及输入电流波形出现了一定程度的畸变。通过仿真证实了理论分析,也显示了此调制策略的优缺点。  相似文献

PWM逆变器供电时电机的端电压出现幅值增高和振荡现象,对电机的匝间绝缘造成很大的威胁,本文提出了一种可以判断PWM逆变器供电异步电机端部过电压波形的实用仿真方法,该方法根据PWM逆变器供电电机系统的特征建立系统的仿真模型,将电机用实测的等效的阻抗频率特性来替代,将三相电缆等效成一个二端口网络,通过傅立叶分析计算电机端部的暂态过电压。与实测波形的对比,证明这种方法的仿真结果可以与实际情况良好地吻合。  相似文献

In this paper, filtering techniques are investigated to reduce the motor terminal overvoltage, ringing, and dv/dt in inverter-fed AC motor drive systems where long leads are required. Analysis is presented to show that the distributed LC of a cable and the pulse-width modulated (PWM) inverter switching action lead to motor terminal voltage reflections and ringing that stress the turn insulation and contribute to bearing currents. First- and second-order shunt filter designs are analyzed and compared. Detailed design equations to match the filter impedance to the cable surge impedance and to determine the filter component values are presented. It is demonstrated that a first-order shunt filter connected at the motor terminals significantly reduces the overvoltage stress and ringing, and also lowers the dv/dt of the PWM switching pulse. Simulation and experimental results are presented to verify the proposed filter designs for 50-ft and 100-ft cable lengths for 460-V PWM insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) AC motor drive systems  相似文献

This paper investigates overvoltage transients on AC induction motors when connected through a cable of arbitrary length to a variable frequency drive (VFD) consisting of a pulsewidth modulation (PWM) inverter with insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) power devices. Factors contributing to a motor overvoltage transient equal to a theoretical twice DC bus voltage are first described using existing transmission line analysis. A critical cable distance Ic is defined where this 2-pu overvoltage occurs. However, literature is lacking on flow motor voltage transients >2-pu bus voltage and up to 3-4 pu are generated. This phenomenon is observed on all PWM inverters with output cable lengths greater than lc distance. Contributing factors to the >2-pu overvoltage phenomenon are investigated by exploring the complex interaction between drive modulation techniques, carrier frequency selected, cable natural frequency of oscillation, cable high-frequency damping losses, and, to a lesser extent, inverter output rise time. Theoretical calculations of cable frequency and damping are correlated with simulation and experimental results. Novel modifications to the PWM modulator, as well as external hardware apparatus, are proposed solutions to the >2-pu overvoltage problem; both are simulated and experimentally confirmed  相似文献

在介绍光伏并网逆变器的基本原理和拓扑结构基础上,提出基于TMS320F2407型DSP的单相电压源输入、电流输出控制方式的并网逆变器设计方案。采用电导增量法跟踪控制太阳电池的最大功率点,利用TMS320F2407芯片产生相应的SPWM波控制功率器件的导通与关断,使用零电流跟踪误差控制实现并网电流无静差的跟踪电网电压,最终实现了快速稳定追踪太阳电池最大功率,并以与电网电压同频、同相正弦电流波形送入电网,提高了系统逆变效率和可靠性。  相似文献

The paper presents a rule-based fuzzy logic controller to control the output power of a pulse width modulated (PWM) inverter used in a stand-alone wind energy conversion scheme (SAWECS). The self-excited induction generator used in SAWECS has the inherent problem of fluctuations in the magnitude and frequency of its terminal voltage with changes in wind velocity and load. To overcome this drawback the variable magnitude, variable frequency voltage at the generator terminals is rectified and the DC power is transferred to the load through a PWM inverter. The objective is to track and extract maximum power from the wind energy system and transfer this power to the local isolated load, This is achieved by using the fuzzy logic controller which regulates the modulation index of the PWM inverter based on the input signals: the power error; and its rate of change. These input signals are fuzzified, that is defined by a set of linguistic labels characterized by their membership functions predefined for each class. Using a set of 49 rules which relate the fuzzified input signals to the fuzzy controller output, fuzzy set theory and associated fuzzy logic operations, the fuzzy controller's output is obtained. The fuzzy set describing the controller's output (in terms of linguistic labels) is defuzzified to obtain the actual analog (numerical) output signal which is then used to control the PWM inverter and ensure complete utilization of the available wind energy. The proposed rule-based fuzzy logic controller is simulated and the results are experimentally verified on a scaled down laboratory prototype of the SAWECS  相似文献

With the application of gate turn-off thyristors (GTO's) and PWM control techniques, a current source inverter capable of producing sinusoidal input/output (I/O) voltages and currents has been developed. The sinusoidally modulated current is fed to the GTO's in the rectifier and inverter sections. The overvoltage-absorption capacitors connected to the ac input and output terminals function as a filter and, consequently, the waveforms of the input/output voltages and currents become sinusoidal. Because the PWM control utilizes the high-speed switching characteristics of the GTO's, the dc link current smoothing reactor and the overvoltage absorption capacitors are greatly reduced. The dc link voltage in the rectifier section is controlled to adjust the ac motor current. This is accomplished by using the firing angle shift method in conjunction with the method involving varying the width of the bypass gate pulses, which put the rectifier section into a bypass state. The current source GTO inverter is used to drive an 11-kW induction motor. As a result, excellent acceleration and deceleration characteristics are obtained, which verifies that the new current source inverter is quite suitable for driving an ac motor at variable speeds.  相似文献

为减少功率变换级数以及低频纹波对输入直流电源的影响,具有大升压能力和低输入纹波的单相逆变器具有重要的研究意义。本文深入研究了大升压比差动Boost逆变器电路拓扑、纹波抑制策略、电流纹波回路、输入电流反馈和输出电压复合控制策略。在传统波形控制基础上,通过输入电流反馈在输出滤波电容上叠加低频偶次电压来进一步减小输入电流中相应偶次谐波分量,使逆变器输出侧低频脉动功率在输出滤波电容与负载之间传递,阻断其向输入源传递;采用前馈与比例积分控制策略提高输出电压质量和输入电流质量。不同负载下的实验结果验证了这种变换器的可行性。  相似文献
