The design of a manufacturing system requires modelling and performance evaluation techniques. To support this process, a
modelling method based on Petri nets is proposed in this paper. A new class of coloured Petri nets is introduced, which is
well suited to the modelling of manufacturing systems. Using this net class, the structure and the work plans of a manufacturing
system can both be modelled separately. A library of model templates helps to create large models. The different model parts
are merged automatically to create a complete model of the manufacturing system. Measures of interest can be obtained from
the model by numerical analysis or simulation, showing its performance and dependability. The usefulness of the approach is
shown by applying the proposed techniques to a real-life manufacturing system. 相似文献

Network-based manufacturing is a kind of distributed system, which enables manufacturers to finish production tasks as well as to grasp the opportunities in the market, even if manufacturing resources are insufficient. One of the main problems in network-based manufacturing is the allocation of resources and the assignment of tasks rationally, according to flexible resource distribution. The mapping rules and relations between production techniques and resources are proposed, followed by the definition of the resource unit. Ultimately, the genetic programming method for the optimization of the manufacturing system is put forward. A set of software for the optimization system of simulation process using genetic programming techniques has been developed, and the problems of manufacturing resource planning in network-based manufacturing are solved with the simulation of optimizing methods by genetic programming. The optimum proposal of hardware planning, selection of company and scheduling will be obtained in theory to help company managers in scientific decision-making. 相似文献

Flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) constitute a considerable capital investment which must be fully utilised by uninterrupted
production. The analysis of reliability at planning and development stages in the implementation of FMS is essential, since
it can change both the system design and the operating philosophy to give improvements in the overall system performance.
The main objective of this paper is to propose a technique for assessing the reliability of flexible manufacturing systems
and further to discuss the unsuitability of the traditional reliability techniques in the study of such systems. It is shown
that simulation studies in thereliability of flexible manufacturing can be applied in the analysis of alternative approaches
to system design. The key terms, ‘Manufacturing Capability’, ‘Production Efficiency’ and ‘Demanded Production Lead Time Success
Ratio’ are introduced as measures which can assess a system's performance. A typical flexible manufacturing cell is then analysed
for reliability using predicted reliability data. The effect of equipment redundancy, buffer stock size and production priority

Geometric accuracy of components is one of the most important quality characteristics in layered manufacturing processes on which most rapid prototyping (RP) techniques are based. Layered manufacturing is an approximate fabricating process in which the final geometric error of the physical part is affected, not only by the approximation technique used, but also by the fabrication process. Errors that occur in one layer could propagate and transfer to other layers causing an accumulated error effect in the process. In this paper, a concept of disturbance error is introduced to describe the effect of accumulated errors in the fabrication process. A physical model is presented to describe error interactions and error transfer mechanisms in the layered manufacturing process. A geometrical model is developed using surface approximation techniques to describe the relationships of the geometrical errors. It is shown that although the complexity of the part geometry is not directly related to the manufacturing process, it will affect the geometrical errors of the part produced. 相似文献

Facility layout design is a significant aspect of designing any manufacturing setup and it has a huge impact on the performance of the manufacturing system. Reductions in operating expenses in a manufacturing system is greatly achieved by a good layout design. The problem of finding an optimal layout is hard and deterministic techniques are not suitable for large-sized problems. In this paper, a two-phase layout design is developed. As a first phase of layout design, an artificial immune system (AIS) algorithm is proposed for solving the unidirectional loop layout problem with the consideration of both min_sum and min_max objectives. The computational results showed that the AIS algorithm is efficient in solving layout problems and producing good-quality solutions. In the second phase, shortcuts are introduced in the flow path of the loop layout to enhance the performance of the system. The position of the shortcut in the loop which gives the minimum material handling cost is discovered. 相似文献

Recently, in accordance with the increasing market demand for ultraprecision technology, a high precision multi-degree-of-freedom displacement measurement technology has become important for industrial applications such as the field of manufacturing and inspection because those physical quantities, linear and angular displacements, are key parameters for keeping and improving quality control of a production system. A number of instruments capable of precise multi-degree-of-freedom measurements have been built and some novel techniques have been introduced. The current state-of-art techniques for multi-degree-of-freedom motion error measurement in a linear stage using laser encoder-implemented system are reviewed. First, we summarize the basic principles behind the measurement technology of the motion error in a stage and simple encoder system. Next, the basic design principles of practical laser encoder system are discussed using the experience of past and existing cases to refer to the important points and the major scientific results. The current trends in the field are significantly discussed, including the novel techniques under construction and advanced technologies. Lastly, the future of multi-functional laser encoder-implemented system, highlighting the kinds of new science upcoming in the next few years, is discussed. 相似文献
