CineCubes: Aiding data workers gain insights from OLAP queries

In this paper we demonstrate that it is possible to enrich query answering with a short data movie that gives insights to the original results of an OLAP query. Our method, implemented in an actual system, CineCubes, includes the following steps. The user submits a query over an underlying star schema. Taking this query as input, the system comes up with a set of queries complementing the information content of the original query, and executes them. For each of the query results, we execute a set of highlight extraction algorithms that identify interesting patterns and values in the data of the results. Then, the system visualizes the query results and accompanies this presentation with a text commenting on the result highlights. Moreover, via a text-to-speech conversion the system automatically produces audio for the constructed text. Each combination of visualization, text and audio practically constitutes a movie, which is wrapped as a PowerPoint presentation and returned to the user.

电视栏目剧是民间自导自演的电视短剧。编导在创作故事情节、刻画人物过程中,自然地融合了对中国传统政治、文化、教育及法律观念、国民性格的理解,剧情也集中地体现了中华民族的孝文化和中庸的传统思想。因此电视栏目剧的故事叙述具有教育和娱乐的社会功能,是我国现阶段社会核心价值体系建立的有效途径之一。     

叙事性的空间构成教学研究

叙事是信息传达的基本方式,是通过语言或其他媒介来再现发生在特定时空里的事件的一种方法.空间构成作为建筑学专业教学的启蒙课程具有重要的实践意义.以重庆大学建筑城规学院一年级“建筑设计基础”中的限定环境要素的空间构成教学实践为例,将叙事性方法导入教学,以其作为引导设计的线索,探讨了—种动态的外部空间设计的操作步骤与关键环节,分析了拟写空间剧本、演绎环境要素、建构叙事空间、升华空间境界四个教学阶段,总结出叙事性在建筑设计中具有设计方法与思维方法的双重作用.     

叙事解析在集镇风貌更新中的应用——鄂西野三关镇风貌更新设计

城市风貌具有两个基本功能——叙事和表意,即传达城市形象和表达城市特色。由规划设计导控城市风貌的系统构成与特色表达,是风貌理论与应用的现实问题之一。回顾实践案例,梳理风貌的构成要素与影响因子,以＂默片＂叙事理论分析风貌场景的组织构成,由繁入简而条理层递的剖析风貌对象的系统要素。本文提出风貌系统优化的叙事三要素理念,建构风貌更新的系统导控框架,以展开一种有效的集镇风貌更新与优化的工作方法。     

“实录”与“虚构”——试论唐叙事诗的叙事手法

唐叙事诗是我国文人叙事诗发展的一个高峰,其虚实相生的叙事手法值得探究。文章从传统诗学和叙事学角度对其进行分析。     

When Static Media Promote Active Learning: Annotated Illustrations Versus Narrated Animations in Multimedia Instruction.

In 4 experiments, students received a lesson consisting of computer-based animation and narration or a lesson consisting of paper-based static diagrams and text. The lessons used the same words and graphics in the paper-based and computer-based versions to explain the process of lightning formation (Experiment 1), how a toilet tank works (Experiment 2), how ocean waves work (Experiment 3), and how a car's braking system works (Experiment 4). On subsequent retention and transfer tests, the paper group performed significantly better than the computer group on 4 of 8 comparisons, and there was no significant difference on the rest. These results support the static media hypothesis, in which static illustrations with printed text reduce extraneous processing and promote germane processing as compared with narrated animations. 唐宋联章词的叙事性探析

词以抒情为主,拙于叙事。然而,在唐宋词中有很多叙事性作品,特别是以联章体形式出现的较多。从这个意义上讲,词能叙事并具有叙事性。但是,学术界对词的叙事性较少关注。文章列举和分析了唐宋词中以联章体形式出现的叙事性作品,并对叙事性作品按题材内容进行分类,最后指出诗歌叙事性艺术渊源及有关影响。
