Studies on customer’s needs, desires and preferences have become highly important in the product design and development process. One consideration in usability is the cognitive aspect, which is related to the accommodation and evaluation of human cognitive capabilities, limitations and tendencies. In addition to the cognitive aspect, a recent study has shown that the affective aspect has been considered in the evaluation of product usability. Thus, both cognitive and affective aspects are deemed to be important for product design and the development process. Inherently, both aspects deliver complete human and product interaction and experience. However, studies that consider the affective process as a complement to the cognitive process for usability are relatively rare. To address this gap, this study discusses how an integrative framework of the cognitive and affective aspects can be applied to a product for usability assessment via empirical studies on e-commerce and e-learning platforms. The sample involved 230 respondents, using purposive sampling. The result shows that both cognitive and affective aspects have a significant effect, although with different weights. The affective aspect has been shown to improve product usability and user’s acceptance.  相似文献

Thin-layer hydrogel composite (TLHC) ultrafiltration (UF) membranes were synthesized by photo-grafting of either poly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate (PEGMA) or N,N-dimethyl-N-(2-methacryloyloxyethyl-N-(3-sulfopropyl) ammonium betaine (SPE) onto commercial polyethersulfone (PES) UF membranes. The performance of TLHC UF membranes was evaluated for natural organic matter (NOM) filtration and compared to commercial PES UF membranes. The fouling evaluation was done by investigation of membrane-solute interactions (adsorptive fouling) and membrane-solute-solute interactions (UF). The results suggest that the TLHC membranes convincingly displayed a higher adsorptive fouling resistance than unmodified PES UF membranes. In long-term stirred dead-end UF, a much lower fouling was observed for TLHC membranes than for commercial membranes with the same flux and rejection. Further, water flux recovery was also much higher. An analysis using an existing blocking model was performed in order to elucidate the effect of a polymer hydrogel layer on fouling mechanism as well as cake layer characteristics. The TLHC membranes synthesized by photo-grafting of PEGMA (40 g/L) and PEGMA with a low concentration of cross-linker monomer in the reaction mixture (ratio: 40/0.4 (g/L)/(g/L)) showed a much better performance than the other composite membranes. Those membranes could reduce the cake resistance on the membrane surface. This work has relevance for the design of high-performance UF membranes for applications in water treatment.  相似文献

Explicit solution techniques have been widely used in geotechnical engineering for simulating the coupled hydro-mechanical (H-M) interaction of fluid flow and deformation induced by structures built above and under saturated ground, i.e. circular footing and deep tunnel. However, the technique is only conditionally stable and requires small time steps, portending its inefficiency for simulating large-scale H-M problems. To improve its efficiency, the unconditionally stable alternating direction explicit (ADE) scheme could be used to solve the flow problem. The standard ADE scheme, however, is only moderately accurate and is restricted to uniform grids and plane strain flow conditions. This paper aims to remove these drawbacks by developing a novel high-order ADE scheme capable of solving flow problems in non-uniform grids and under axisymmetric conditions. The new scheme is derived by performing a fourth-order finite difference (FD) approximation to the spatial derivatives of the axisymmetric fluid–diffusion equation in a non-uniform grid configuration. The implicit Crank-Nicolson technique is then applied to the resulting approximation, and the subsequent equation is split into two alternating direction sweeps, giving rise to a new axisymmetric ADE scheme. The pore pressure solutions from the new scheme are then sequentially coupled with an existing geomechanical simulator in the computer code fast Lagrangian analysis of continua (FLAC). This coupling procedure is called the sequentially-explicit coupling technique based on the fourth-order axisymmetric ADE scheme or SEA-4-AXI. Application of SEA-4-AXI for solving axisymmetric consolidation of a circular footing and of advancing tunnel in deep saturated ground shows that SEA-4-AXI reduces computer runtime up to 42%–50% that of FLAC's basic scheme without numerical instability. In addition, it produces high numerical accuracy of the H-M solutions with average percentage difference of only 0.5%–1.8%.  相似文献

Genipin is a Chinese herbal medicine with both neuroprotective and neuritogenic activity. Because of its unstable nature, efforts have been to develop more stable genipin derivatives with improved biological activities. Among the new compounds reported in the literature, (1R)‐isopropyloxygenipin (IPRG001) is a more stable but less active compound compared with the parent, genipin. Here, two new IPRG001 derivatives generated by stereoselective reduction of the C6=C7 double bond were synthesized. The 1R and 1S isomers of (4aS,7S,7aS)‐methyl‐7‐(hydroxymethyl)‐1‐isopropoxy‐1,4a,5,6,7,7a‐hexahydrocyclopenta[c]pyran‐4‐carboxylate ( CHR20 and CHR21 ) were shown to be very stable both in high‐glucose cell culture medium and in mice serum at 37 °C. Evaluation using an MTT assay and Hoechst staining showed that CHR20 and CHR21 promote the survival of rat adrenal pheochromocytoma (PC12) and retinal neuronal (RGC‐5) cells from injury induced by sodium nitroprusside (SNP). The neuroprotective effects of CHR20 and CHR21 were greater than both isomers of IPRG001, the parent compounds. These results indicate that reduction of 1‐O‐isopropyloxygenipin enhances its neuroprotective activity without affecting its stability.  相似文献

A simple surfactant-free electrochemical method is proposed for the preparation of magnetite nanoparticles using iron as the anode and plain water as the electrolyte. This study observed the effects of certain parameters on the formation of magnetite nanoparticles and their mechanism in the system, including the role of OH? ions, the distance between electrodes and current density. We found that OH? ions play an important role in the formation of magnetite nanoparticles. Particle size can be controlled by adjusting the current density and the distance between electrodes. Particle size increases by increasing the current density and by decreasing the distance between electrodes. Particle formation cannot be favored when the distance between electrodes is larger than a critical value. The magnetite nanoparticles produced by this method are nearly spherical with a mean size ranging from 10 to 30 nm depending on the experimental conditions. They exhibit ferromagnetic properties with a coercivity ranging from 140 to 295 Oe and a saturation magnetization ranging from 60 to 70 emu g?1, which is lower than that of the corresponding bulk Fe3O4 (92 emu g?1). This simple method appears to be promising as a synthetic route to producing magnetite nanoparticles.  相似文献

In this paper, the effect of natural organic matters (NOMs), which are typically present in river and seawater, on the power generation of reverse electrodialysis was studied. Bovine serum albumin, humic acid, and sodium alginate were used as models of NOMs. A NOM model was added to concentrated salt water, diluted salt water, and/or both of them. Power density was used to measure the resulted power generation. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope were used to characterize the presence of NOMs on the membrane surfaces. The effect of NOMs on the generated power density was clearly observed. This effect was influenced by the NOM's type, the NOMs concentration, and the compartment in which NOMs are added. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscope data confirmed that NOMs are deposited on both anion and cation exchange membrane surfaces. While all NOMs added to concentrated salt water did not influence the generated power density, different power density behavior was resulted from the different NOMs added to diluted salt water, where NOMs could increase or decrease or remain the generated power density. Thus, besides NOM's type, the salt concentration is very critical to determine the effect of NOMs on the generated power density. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The effects of gas flow rate on particle formation and film deposition during the preparation of silica thin film using a TEOS/O2 plasma were investigated. Particle formation and growth are suppressed with increasing gas flow rates. The film deposition rate increases with increasing gas flow rate, reaches a maximum value, and eventually decreases again. However, the uniformity of the film tends to degrade at high gas flow rates. At a high gas flow rate, some particles trapped in the sheath near the grounded electrode pass through the sheath to reach the substrate and are then embedded in the growing film. A self-consistent sheath model combined with particle force balance based on charge fluctuation was developed to explain these experimental findings qualitatively. The model reveals that charge fluctuation is a key factor for the particle to overcome the potential barrier of the negatively charged particles to pass through the sheath, eventually reaching the substrate. The model further shows that the probability of a particle being deposited on the substrate is higher for increased gas flow rates, which correctly predicts the experimentally observed trend.  相似文献

In the present work, the properties of cellulose extracted from mendong fiber have been investigated. The experiments were conducted by two different methods to extract the cellulose from mendong fiber, which is extracted by alkali and alkali assisted by PEF. The cellulose was analyzed using X-ray diffraction, Fourier Transform Infra Red, Thermogravimetric Analysis, and compared with cellulose of commercial product. The morphology of cellulose after extraction was observed using both optical and Scanning Electron Microscope. The crystalline structure properties of cellulose extracted from mendong fiber assisted by pulsed electric field (PEF) were similar to the commercial cellulose.  相似文献

The particle formation mechanism of hydroxyapatite precursor containing two components, Ca(OOCCH3)2 and (NH4)2HPO4 with a ratio of Ca/P = 1.67, in a spray pyrolysis process has been studied by computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation on the transfer of heat and mass from droplets to the surrounding media. The focus included the evaporation of the solvent in the droplets, a second evaporation due to crust formation, the decomposition reaction of each component of the precursor, and a solid-state reaction that included the kinetic parameters of the precursor regarding its two components that formed the hydroxyapatite product. The rate of evaporation and the reacted fraction of the precursor both increased with temperature. The predicted average size of the hydroxyapatite particles agreed well with the experimental results. Therefore, the selected models were also suitable for predicting the average size of particles that contain two components in the precursor solution.  相似文献

Presented a “safe production model” that can be adopted by small mine operators to achieve their production targets safely and efficiently. The model consists of eight elements ranging from management commitment and leadership to safety account-ability and communication. The model is developed considering the mine operators’ resource limitations and the workers’ training needs. The study concludes with a summary of a sample survey that is conducted to validate the model and estimate a parameter for each mine and determine its position in the safe production scale.
