A Real-coded Genetic Algorithm has been used to develop a new correlation to estimate the enthalpy of vaporization for pure compounds and petroleum fractions as a function of the normal boiling point and specific gravity. In developing the correlation 80% of the data was used and the remaining are used for validation. The results of the proposed correlations are compared to others in literature. The comparison indicates that the proposed model is simple to use and more accurate than the most common correlations for predicting the enthalpy of vaporization of pure compounds and petroleum fractions.  相似文献

In the present work, honeycomb-shaped monoliths were easily extruded using local natural clays without the need of chemical binders. This finding allows significant cost reduction, in terms of not only additives and solvents but also the energy consumption required for their elimination by thermal treatment. The extruded monoliths were subject to mechanical strength testing in addition to the study of their thermal behavior, structural and textural properties. Moreover, one of their potential uses as VOCs adsorbents was evaluated in comparison with conventional packed bed by investigating their dynamic adsorptive and desorption behavior towards a model VOC of o-xylene type.  相似文献

A two phase biomass char steam gasification kinetic model is developed in a bubbling fluidized bed with nuclear heat as source of energy. The model is capable of predicting the temperature and concentration profiles of gases in the bubble, emulsion gas and solid phases. The robust model calculates the dynamic and steady state profiles, as well as the complex parameters of fluidized bed. Three pilot scale gasifiers were simulated in order to see the effect of the H/D ratio and the bed heating dynamics in the gasification kinetics, these parameters are found to be really important in order to enhance the water-gas shift reaction, and consequently, the hydrogen production. For the system modeled, hydrogen is the principal product of the steam-only gasification, as reported in the literature data. The carbon dioxide yield seems to be smaller than the ones in other works, but these differences are due principally to the energy source (no combustion is conducted) and that char (no oxygen in the solids) was used as the carbon source.  相似文献

BACKGROUND

In the past few years, much effort has been invested into developing a new blue economy based on harvesting, cultivating and processing marine macroalgae in Norway. Macroalgae have high potential for a wide range of applications, e.g. as source of pharmaceuticals, production of biofuels or as food and feed. However, data on the chemical composition of macroalgae from Norwegian waters are scant. This study was designed to characterize the chemical composition of 21 algal species. Both macro‐ and micronutrients were analysed. Concentrations of heavy metals and the metalloid arsenic in the algae were also quantified.

RESULTS

The results confirm that marine macroalgae contain nutrients which are relevant for both human and animal nutrition, the concentrations whereof are highly dependent on species. Although heavy metals and arsenic were detected in the algae studied, concentrations were mostly below maximum allowed levels set by food and feed legislation in the EU.

CONCLUSION

This study provides chemical data on a wide range of algal species covering the three taxonomic groups (brown, red and green algae) and discusses both benefits of and potential limitations to their use for food and feed purposes. © 2017 The Authors. Finding a basis of unification for the modeling of mechatronic systems is the search subject of several works.This paper is a part of a general research designed to the application of topology as a new approach for the modeling of mechatronic systems.Particularly,the modeling of a one stage spur gear transmission using a topological approach is tackled.This approach is based on the concepts of topological collections and transformations and implemented using the MGS(modeling of general systems)language.The topological collections are used to specify the interconnection laws of the one stage spur gear transmission and the transformations are used to specify the local behavior laws of its different components.In order to validate this approach,simulation results are presented and compared with those obtained with MODELICA language using Dymola solver.Since good results are achieved,this approach might be used as a basis of unification for the modeling of mechatronic systems.  相似文献

We have written a Fortran program BCVEGPY, which is an event generator for the hadronic production of the Bc meson through the dominant hard subprocess . To achieve a compact program, we have written the amplitude of the subprocess with the particle helicity technique and made it as symmetric as possible, by decomposing the gluon self couplings and then applying the symmetries. To check the program, various cross sections of the subprocess have been computed numerically and compared with those in the literature. BCVEGPY is written in a PYTHIA-compatible format, thus it is easy to implement in PYTHIA.

This study was designed to determine antimicrobial resistance phenotypes and genotypes and virulence factors in Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci (CNS) in unpasteurized milk sold in Djelfa, Algeria. Eighty-two unpasteurized cow milk samples were randomly obtained from 82 retail stores in Djelfa and tested to detect staphylococci. Species were identified by biochemical tests and MALDI-TOF. Antimicrobial resistance phenotypes and genotypes were determined by disk diffusion test, PCR, and sequencing. The Staph. aureus isolates were subjected to spa typing, multilocus sequence typing, and detection of virulence genes and the scn gene by PCR and sequencing. Forty-five (54.9%) milk samples were contaminated by staphylococci and 45 isolates were recovered: 10 Staph. aureus (12.2% of total samples) and 35 CNS (42.7%). Resistance to penicillin (blaZ), tetracycline (tetL/tetK), and erythromycin (ermB/msrA/ermC) were the most common phenotypes (genotypes). Three CNS were methicillin-resistant and all were mecA-positive. The Staph. aureus isolates were ascribed to the following lineages [spa type/sequence type/associated clonal complex (number of isolates)]: t267/ST479/CC479 (n = 6), t1510/ST5651/CC45 (n = 1), t359/ST97/CC97/ (n = 1), t346/ST15/CC15 (n = 1), and t044/ST80 (n = 1). The mecA gene was detected in the cefoxitin-susceptible t044/ST80 isolate and co-harbored the lukF/lukS-PV and scn genes. The detection of mecA-PVL-positive Staph. aureus, methicillin-resistant CNS, and multidrug-resistant staphylococcal species indicates a potentially serious health issue and reveals that unpasteurized milk sold in Djelfa city could be a potential vehicle for pathogenic and antimicrobial-resistant staphylococci.  相似文献

The human skeleton is a dynamic and remarkably organized organ system that provides mechanical support and performs a variety of additional functions. Bone tissue undergoes constant remodeling; an essential process to adapt architecture/resistance to growth and mechanical needs, but also to repair fractures and micro-damages. Despite bone’s ability to heal spontaneously, certain situations require an additional stimulation of bone regeneration, such as non-union fractures or after tumor resection. Among the growth factors used to increase bone regeneration, bone morphogenetic protein-2 (BMP2) is certainly the best described and studied. If clinically used in high quantities, BMP2 is associated with various adverse events, including fibrosis, overshooting bone formation, induction of inflammation and swelling. In previous studies, we have shown that it was possible to reduce BMP2 doses significantly, by increasing the response and sensitivity to it with small molecules called “BMP2 enhancers”. In the present study, we investigated the effect of N-Vinyl-2-pyrrolidone (NVP) on osteoblast and osteoclast differentiation in vitro and guided bone regeneration in vivo. We showed that NVP increases BMP2-induced osteoblast differentiation and decreases RANKL-induced osteoclast differentiation in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, in a rabbit calvarial defect model, the histomorphometric analysis revealed that bony bridging and bony regenerated area achieved with NVP-loaded poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) membranes were significantly higher compared to unloaded membranes. Taken together, our results suggest that NVP sensitizes BMP2-dependent pathways, enhances BMP2 effect, and inhibits osteoclast differentiation. Thus, NVP could prove useful as “osteopromotive substance” in situations where a high rate of bone regeneration is required, and in the management of bone diseases associated with excessive bone resorption, like osteoporosis.  相似文献

Proton-exchange-membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are a popular source of alternative energy because of their operational reliability and compactness. This paper presents an improved model to represent the semi-empirical voltage of PEMFCs to overcome the limitations of existing models. The proposed model considers variations in ambient conditions, such as the ambient temperature and relative humidity, to obtain the accurate output voltage that corresponds to variations in dynamic and static loads. The proposed model was developed by conducting several experiments on the Horizon PEMFC system under normal, humid, and dry ambient conditions. Subsequently, the model parameters corresponding to each case were optimised using the quantum lightning search algorithm (QLSA). Parameters demonstrating significant variations with ambient conditions were finally represented as a function of the ambient temperature and relative humidity via statistical regression analysis. The voltage obtained using the modified model was verified by conducting experiments on both the Horizon and NEXA PEMFC systems by varying the ambient temperature and relative humidity with root mean square error (RMSE) less than 0.5. As observed, the results we obtained using the modified model closely approximated those obtained using PEMFCs under various operating conditions, and in both cases, the PEMFC voltage was observed to vary with the ambient and load conditions. The inherent advantages of the proposed PEMFC model include its ability to determine the membrane-water content and water pressure inside PEMFCs. The membrane-water content provides clear indications regarding the occurrence of drying and flooding faults. Under normal conditions, this membrane water content ranges from 11 to 7 for both the Horizon and NEXA PEMFC system. The simulation results suggested using the threshold membrane-water-content level as a possible indicator of fault occurrence under extreme ambient conditions. The limits of the said threshold were observed to be useful for fault diagnosis within PEMFC systems.  相似文献
