Fracture toughness of pre-strain effect was determined as a function of the temperature in structural steels of the 600 to 780 MPa class. Cyclic loading during earthquakes produces pre-strain in the component, which is enhanced at the region of strain concentration. During the Kobe Great Earthquake in 1995 in Japan, 10 to 15 % pre-strain was recorded at the beam-to-column connection. The relationship between critical CTOD and CGHAZ length was sampled by fatigue pre-crack for pre-strained HAZ, which is a significant decrease compared to that of the base metal. Furthermore, the effect of pre-strain is discussed in terms of the CTOD and Charpy impact energy of the local brittle zone.  相似文献

The crystal structure of urea-polyethylene complex in the hexagonal form, obtained by one of our preparation methods, is analysed by X-ray power diffractometry. In this analysis, the fixed molecular parameters of urea are used, and three models with respect to rotational disorder of the guest polyethylene molecule are assumed. It is shown that the host lattice structure constructed by urea molecules is essentially the same as that of urea-n-paraffin complex. Effects of the disorder structure of the guest on X-ray scattering of the complex are presented. However, there is a difficulty in identifying the disorder structure by X-ray analysis. With the aid of a potential energy calculation between the hexagonal urea tunnel and the guest molecule, a rotational disorder model is preferred.  相似文献

The gel-size dependence of microphase separation in weakly-charged gels of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPA) and 1-vinylimidazole (VI) copolymers has been investigated using swelling measurement, small-angle neutron scattering (SANS), and dynamic and static light scattering (DLS/SLS). It is known that weakly-charged polymer gels undergo microphase separation in a poor solvent as a result of competing interactions involving hydrophobic attraction versus electrostatic repulsion. The microphase separation is characterized by a scattering maximum in SANS intensity functions of which Bragg spacing, Λ, is around 20-30 nm. However, when gel size was reduced to the order of Λ, no microphase separation was observed. Instead, a typical scattering of isolated spherical particles was clearly observed. On the basis of the experimental evidence, we conclude that microphase separation has its own wavelength independent of gel size, and nanometer-order gels, i.e., nanogels, do not undergo microphase separation.  相似文献

The relationship between Charpy absorbed energy and the fracture toughness by means of the (crack tip opening displacement (CTOD)) method was analyzed based on the Weibull stress criterion. The Charpy absorbed energy and the fracture toughness were measured for the SN490B steel under the ductile-brittle transition temperature region. For the instrumented Charpy impact test, the curves between the loading point displacement and the load against time were recorded. The critical Weibull stress was taken as a fracture controlled parameter, and it could not be affected by the specimen configuration and the loading pattern based on the local approach. The parameters controlled brittle fracture are obtained from the Charpy absorbed energy results, then the fracture toughness for the compact tension (CT) specimen is predicted. It is found that the results predicted are in good agreement with the experimental. The fracture toughness could be evaluated by the Charpy absorbed energy, because the local approach give  相似文献

Experimental investigations have been carried out for combined convective flows of air induced around uniformly heated, horizontal cylinders. Three cases of aiding, opposing, and cross flows were examined. The experiments covered the ranges of the Reynolds and modified Rayleigh numbers of Red=50 to 900 and Rad*=5×104 to 3×106. The flow fields around the cylinders were visualized with smoke. The results showed that separation points gradually shift from those of the forced convection to the top edge of the cylinder with increasing wall heat fluxes. The local heat transfer coefficients of the cylinders were also measured. Although the local coefficients show complex variations with the forced flow velocities and the wall heat fluxes, the overall coefficients become higher than those estimated from pure forced and natural convections throughout the cases of aiding, opposing, and cross flows. Moreover, it was confirmed that the overall Nusselt numbers as well as the separation points can be predicted with the non‐dimensional parameter (Grd*/NudRed2). © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ABCD1 is a gene responsible for X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD), and is critical for the transport of very long‐chain fatty acids (VLCFA) into peroxisomes and subsequent β‐oxidation. VLCFA‐containing lipids accumulate in X‐ALD patients, although the effect of ABCD1‐deficiency on each lipid species in the central nervous system has not been fully characterized. In this study, each phospholipid and lysophospholipid species in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains were profiled by liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry. Among the phospholipid and lysophospholipid species that are significantly more enriched in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains, VLCFA were present in 75, 15, 5, 4, and 1 species of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylethanolamine, sphingomyelin, lysophosphatidylcholine, and lysophosphatidylethanolamine, respectively. Most VLCFA were incorporated at the sn‐1 position of phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. Among the phospholipid species that are significantly less enriched in Abcd1‐deficient mice brains, odd‐numbered saturated or mono‐unsaturated fatty acyl moieties are contained in all phosphatidylcholine species. In addition, a number of phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylinositol, and phosphatidylserine species contained highly unsaturated fatty acyl moieties. Intriguingly, 44:1 phosphatidylcholine with VLCFA was mainly distributed in the gray matter, such as the cortex, but not in the white matter in the cerebrum and cerebellum. These results show that ABCD1‐deficiency causes metabolic alternation of long‐chain fatty acids and VLCFA. Moreover, our results imply a molecular mechanism for the incorporation of saturated or monounsaturated VLCFA into the sn‐1 position of phospholipids, and also indicate that the distribution of phospholipids with VLCFA may correlate with the development of X‐ALD.  相似文献
