Although curcumin is considered to have various therapeutic effects, its use as a functional food or supplement is restricted owing to its low water solubility and bioavailability. To increase the solubility of curcumin in water, the use of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and vinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymers with a pyrrolidone skeleton was noted to be promising. In particular, the bi-component formulations of curcumin/PVP prepared through spray drying exhibited an amorphous state in powder X-ray diffraction observations and temporally increased the apparent solubility of curcumin to over 5000 times that of untreated curcumin; nevertheless, after 24 h, the solubility decreased owing to the unstable supersaturated state of curcumin. The addition of α-cyclodextrin (α-CyD) in the bi-component curcumin/PVP formulation helped maintain the supersaturated state of curcumin, whereas the addition of β- and γ-CyD led to the collapse of the supersaturated state. The addition of α-CyD can likely help inhibit the nucleation and crystal growth of curcumin, through the interaction among the solubilized units of curcumin/PVP and α-CyD.  相似文献

There has been an increasing prevalence of neurodegenerative diseases with the rapid increase in aging societies worldwide. Biomarkers that can be used to detect pathological changes before the development of severe neuronal loss and consequently facilitate early intervention with disease-modifying therapeutic modalities are therefore urgently needed. Diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a promising tool that can be used to infer microstructural characteristics of the brain, such as microstructural integrity and complexity, as well as axonal density, order, and myelination, through the utilization of water molecules that are diffused within the tissue, with displacement at the micron scale. Diffusion tensor imaging is the most commonly used diffusion MRI technique to assess the pathophysiology of neurodegenerative diseases. However, diffusion tensor imaging has several limitations, and new technologies, including neurite orientation dispersion and density imaging, diffusion kurtosis imaging, and free-water imaging, have been recently developed as approaches to overcome these constraints. This review provides an overview of these technologies and their potential as biomarkers for the early diagnosis and disease progression of major neurodegenerative diseases.  相似文献

设计了一种基于阿基米德螺线的新型螺旋光子晶体光纤,该光纤以二氧化硅为基底材料,包层由24个螺旋臂组成,每个螺旋臂包含11个小空气孔,纤芯设有大空气孔,包层与纤芯中间的环形区域用于传输轨道角动量模式。该结构在1300~1800 nm波段上可支持22种轨道角动量模式稳定传输,在1550 nm波长下,有效折射率差最高可达2.89×10^(-3),色散系数最低可达66.4 ps/(nm·km),非线性系数最低可达2.17 W^(-1)·km^(-1),且1500~1600 nm波段上的色散值变化均小于15.15 ps/(nm·km)。此螺旋光子晶体光纤不仅结构简单,且具有低非线性、色散平坦的性能,为螺旋光子晶体光纤的设计提供了思路。  相似文献

Hydrogen produced from renewable resources is one of the cleanest fuels and could be used to store intermittent solar, wind and other energies. The main concern about using hydrogen is its hazards, such as high storage pressure, wide-range flammability, low mass density, and high diffusion. This study investigated the hazards of compressed hydrogen storage by developing a CFD model to understand the gas dispersion behaviour. The model was validated using the past experimental data and showed a good agreement, which could demonstrate the diffusion characteristics and gas stratification of a buoyant gas. A case study of an accidental release of compressed hydrogen from a storage tank was investigated to evaluate the risk of a hydrogen plant. A mathematical model of the jet spill was used to account for the choking effect from a high-pressure release to ensure the input velocity in CFD simulation is suitable for modelling gas dispersion using verified spatial and temporal scales, then the simulation results were used as inputs of vapour cloud explosions (VCEs) to investigate the potential overpressure effect. It was found the CFD model could predict a more reasonable flammable gas amount in cloud than using the bulk hydrogen release rate. The safety distance based on the overpressure prediction was reduced by 35%. The method proposed in this study can provide more validity for the consequence analysis as part of risk assessment.  相似文献

Ni-based catalysts have been widely studied in reforming methane with carbon dioxide. However, Ni-based catalysts tends to form carbon deposition at low temperatures (≤600 °C), compared with high temperatures. In this paper, a series of Ni/SiO2-XG catalysts were prepared by the glycine-assisted incipient wetness impregnation method, in which X means the molar ratio of glycine to nitrate. XRD, H2-TPR, TEM and XPS results confirmed that the addition of glycine can increase Ni dispersion and enhance the metal-support interaction. When X ≥ 0.3, these catalysts have strong metal-support interaction and small Ni particle size. The Ni/SiO2-0.7G catalyst has the best catalytic performance in dry reforming of methane (DRM) test at 600 °C, and its CH4 conversion is 3.7 times that of Ni/SiO2-0G catalyst. After 20 h reaction under high GHSV (6 × 105 ml/gcat/h), the carbon deposition of Ni/SiO2-0.7G catalyst is obviously lower than that of Ni/SiO2-0G catalyst. Glycine-assisted impregnation method can enhance the metal-support interaction and decrease the metal particle size,which is a method to prepare highly dispersed and stable Ni-based catalyst.  相似文献

Platinum (Pt)-based electrocatalysts often exhibit an excellent electrocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution due to their best hydrogen bonding energy, but materials with high Pt content can easily cause aggregation and reduce their efficiency. In this article, Pt-based electrocatalysts with uniform dispersion and high efficiency were fabricated by a successive hydrothermal and calcination method, and the uniformly distributed Pt nanoparticle was mainly due to the anchoring effect of porphyrin ring in porphyrin MOFs, which made the minimized agglomerations as much as possible in the process of high temperature calcination. The results showed that the optimal Pt/NC-850 could reach current density of 10, 50 and 100 mA cm?2 with only 17, 82 and 152 mV overpotentials, while the Pt/NC-850 also exhibited a superior stability and durability under acidic medium. Impressively, the Pt/NC-850 also had an excellent activity, good stability and durability under alkaline medium.  相似文献

Customizing catalysts from the electronic structure, such as spin state, is an effective but challenging strategy for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Herein, an ultrafine Co–Fe material highly dispersed on nitrogen carbide matrix is fabricated by coordination polymer and self-templating method to scrutinize the impact of spin state of Co on OER through Fe doping. The optimized catalyst shows boosted OER performance, which only requires overpotential of 333 mV at 10 mA cm?2, outperforming other control samples and commercial RuO2. The elevated local spin states of Co by Fe doping lead to charge transfer acceleration and fast generation of oxygenated intermediates, which is proved to account for the OER elevation. In addition, the long-term stability of Co–Fe material is guaranteed by the strong coordination of Co/Fe to the melamine-formaldehyde resin, which is used to adsorb metal ions, contributing to the high dispersion of active sites during the OER process.  相似文献

Ca3Co4O9+δ is a typical p-type thermoelectric oxide material with a low thermal conductivity. In this study, double-layered oxide samples Ca(Ba,Sr)3Co4O9+δ dispersed with different SiC contents were obtained via the traditional solid phase reaction method. The effects of different elemental substitutions and SiC dispersion contents on the microstructure and thermoelectric properties of the samples were studied. The double optimisation of partial substitution of Ca-site atoms and SiC dispersion considerably improved the thermoelectric properties of Ca3Co4O9+δ. Through the elemental substitution, the resistivity of the Ca3Co4O9+δ material was reduced. Conversely, introducing an appropriate amount of SiC nanoparticles enhanced phonon scattering and was crucial in reducing its thermal conductivity. After double optimisations, the dimensionless thermoelectric figure of merit (ZT) values of both Ca2.93Sr0.07Co4O9+δ + 0.1 wt% SiC and Ca2.9Ba0.1Co4O9+δ + 0.1 wt% SiC achieved an optimum value of 0.25 at 923 K.  相似文献

Zirconia-based inert matrix fuels reinforced by ZrC were synthesized via spark plasma sintering (SPS). Composites with full density were obtained. In order to prevent the oxidation introduced by dispersed ZrC in the bulk composite, SiC and ZrB2 were later added into the composite and their capability to improve oxidation resistance was examined. SiC was found to form an oxidation layer which could enhance the oxidation resistance. In addition, micro hardness was improved attributing to effective sintering facilitated by silica flow and distribution of ZrC. With an optimum sintering condition and the addition of SiC, thermal conductivity was improved at higher temperature with the help of unoxidized ZrC reinforcement in the bulk composite.  相似文献
