In this work, the snail shell/hydroxyapatite/chitosan composite was prepared as adsorbent. The adsorption potential of the composite was studied for simultaneous sorption behavior of Zn(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) ions in a batch system. Chitosan and hydroxyapatite(HAP) were extracted from shrimp shell and bone ash, respectively, so this is a low cost natural composite. To prepare the composite, chitosan was dissolved in acetic acid, then HAP and snail shell powders were added to the chitosan solution. The morphology and characterization of the composite was studied by SEM and EDX analysis. Atomic adsorption was used to measure the amount of the ions. Experimental parameters were optimized with Design Expert Software and five parameters such as the concentration of ions, p H, adsorbent amount and contact time were studied at room temperature. Optimized value for the parameters of Zn(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) concentrations, p H, adsorbent dose, and contact time were 3.01 mg·L~(-1), 5.5, 0.02 g and 95 min, respectively. The adsorption isotherms for Zn(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) showed Langmuir and Tempkin, respectively. Kinetic and equilibrium studies showed the experimental data of Zn(Ⅱ) and Cu(Ⅱ) ions were best described by the pseudo-second-order model. Studies on thermodynamic show the adsorption process were physical and spontaneous.  相似文献

In this article, morphology, structure and size controllable chitosan microspheres with high mechanical strength were synthesized by microfluidic technology combining chemical crosslinking and used as an adsorbent for methyl orange. The synthesized adsorbents were characterized using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR), and an Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(EDS). The effect of pH revealed that the adsorption process depended on pH and the pH variation of methyl orange solution after adsorption indicated that adsorption capacity was affected through the associated role of chitosan nature and pH variation. Experimental results suggested that the as-prepared chitosan microspheres were controlled within a narrow size distribution(coefficients of variation is 1.81%), whose adsorption capacity reached to 207 mg·g~(-1) and mechanical strength was suitable to resist forces. In addition, the adsorption isotherm was well fitted with the Langmuir model, and the adsorption kinetic was best described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic model. The high performance microfluidic-synthesized chitosan microspheres have promising potentials in the applications of removing dyes from wastewater.  相似文献

Na-A zeolite was synthesized using oil shale ash (OSA), which is a solid by-product of oil shale proc- essing. The samples were characterized by various techniques, such as scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffrac- tion and Brunaner Emmet Teller method. The batch isothermal equilibrium adsorption experiments were performed to evaluate the ability of Na-A zeolite for removal of Cu (II) from aqueous solutions. The effects of operating pa- rameters, such as concentration of copper solutions, adsorbent dosages, pH value of solutions and temperature, on the adsorption efficiency were investigated. The equilibrium adsorption data were fitted with Langmuir and Freundlich models. The maximum adsorption capacity of Na-A zeolite obtained from the Langmuir adsorption iso- therm is 156.7 mg.g-t of Cu (lI). The increase of pH level in the adsorption process suggests that the uptake of heavy metals on the zeolite follows an ion exchange mechanism. The batch kinetic data fit the pseudo-second order equation well. The thermodynamic parameters, such as changes in Gibbs free energy (AG), enthalpy (AH) and en- tropy (AS), are used to predict the nature of the adsorption process. The negative AG values at different tempera- tures confirm that the adsorption processes are spontaneous.  相似文献

Metal ion contamination of drinking water and waste water, especially with heavy metal ion such as lead, is a serious and ongoing problem. In this work, activated carbon prepared from peanut shell (PAC) was used for the removal of Pb^2+ from aqueous solution. The impacts of the Pb25 adsorption capacities of the acid-modified carbons oxidized with HNO3 were also investigated. The surface functional groups of PAC were confirmed by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Boehm titration. The textural properties (surface area, total pore volume) were evaluated from the nitrogen adsorption isotherm at 77 K. The experimental results presented indicated that the adsorption data fitted better with the Langmuir adsorption model. A comparative study with a commercial granular activated carbon (GAC) showed that PAC was 10.3 times more efficient compared to GAC based on Langmuir maximum adsorption capacity. Further analysis results by the Langmuir equation showed that HNO3 [20% (by mass)] modified PAC has larger adsorption capacity of Pb^2+ from aqueous solution (as much as 35.5 mg·g^-1). The adsorption capacity enhancement ascribed to pore widening, increased cation-exchange capacity by oxygen groups, and the promoted hydrophilicity of the carbon surface.  相似文献

A fast and selective adsorbent for Hg(II) from aqueous solutions using thiourea(TU) functionalized polypropylene fiber grafted acrylic acid(PP-g-AA),PP-g-AA-TU fibers, was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The adsorption behavior of the functionalized chelating fibers for Hg(II) was investigated by static adsorption experiments, and the effects of some essential factors on adsorption of Hg(II) were examined, such as pH,initial concentration, adsorption time, coexisting cations, and temperature. The results showed that the adsorptive equilibrium could be achieved in 10 min,and the equilibrium adsorption quantity of PP-g-AA-TU fibers was 20 times that of PP-g-AA fibers. The PP-g-AA-TU fibers showed a very high adsorption rate and a good selectivity for Hg(II) over a wide range of p H.The adsorption isotherm can be well described with Langmuir model, with the maximum adsorption capacity for Hg(II) up to52.04 mg·g~(-1)and the removal of Hg(II) more than 97%.The kinetic data indicate that the adsorption process is best-fitted into the pseudo-second-order model.  相似文献

The carbonaceous adsorbent was prepared from mixtures of dewatered sludge and sawdust with enhanced ZnCl2 chemical activation.Characteristics of the adsorbent were studied using scanning electron microscope(SEM) ,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) ,and adsorption of nitrogen. The surface analysis showed that the carbonaceous adsorbent had good specific surface and porosity(394 m 2 ·g-1of BET surface,0.12 and 0.10 ml·g-1of microporous and mesoporous volume, respectively) .The oxygen functional groups such as OH,C O and C O were found on the surface by FTIR and XPS(X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) .The adsorption of elemental mercury(Hg0) on the carbonaceous adsorbent was studied in a fixed bed reactor. The dynamic adsorption capacity of carbonaceous adsorbent increased with influent mercury concentration, from 23.6μg·g-1at 12.58μg·m-3to 87.9μg·g-1at 72.50μg·m-3,and decreased as the adsorption temperature increased, from 246 μg·g-1 at 25°C to 61.3μg·g-1 at 140°C,when dry nitrogen was used as the carrier gas.The carbonaceous adsorbent presented higher dynamic adsorption capacity than activated carbon, which was 81.2μg·g-1and 53.8μg·g-1respectively.The adsorption data were fitted to the Langmuir adsorption model. The physical and chemical adsorption were identified on the adsorbent.  相似文献

AB-8 resin was used as an adsorbent for the removal of trans-1,2-cyclohexandiol(CHD) from aqueous solutions.Batch experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of contact time and temperature on sorption efficiency. The adsorptive thermodynamic properties and kinetics of CHD from water onto AB-8 resin were studied. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were employed to discuss the adsorption behavior.Thermodynamic parameters such as G,H and S were calculated. The results indicate that the equilibrium data are perfectly represented by Langmuir isotherm model.Thermodynamic study reveals that it is an exothermic process in nature and mainly physical adsorption enhanced by chemisorption with a decrease of entropy process. The kinetics of CHD adsorption is well described by the pseudo second-order model. The adsorbed CHD can be eluted from AB-8 resin by 5% ethanol aqueous solution with 100% elution percentage.  相似文献

In the present paper, a metal–organic framework Cr-BDC was prepared and used as adsorbent for adsorption of o-nitrophenol(ONP) and p-nitrophenol(PNP) from aqueous solutions. Cr-BDC was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and BET methods. The results indicate that Cr-BDC gets a very large specific surface area of 4128 m~2·g~(-1)and pore sizes are concentrated in 1 nm, which is a benefit for using for wastewater treatment. The influences of the adsorption conditions, such as temperature, solution concentration, adsorption time and reusability on adsorption performance were investigated. Cr-BDC exhibited an encouraging uptake capacity of 310.0 mg·g~(-1)for ONP, and adsorption capacity of Cr-BDC for ONP is significantly higher than that for PNP under suitable adsorption conditions. The characterizations of adsorption process were examined with the Lagergren pseudo-first-order, the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and the intra-particular diffusion model. Kinetics experiments indicated that the pseudo-second-order model displayed the best correlation with adsorption kinetics data. Furthermore, our adsorption equilibrium data could be better described by the Freundlich equation. The results indicate that the as-prepared Cr-BDC is promising for use as an effective and economical adsorbent for ONP removal.  相似文献

A low-cost adsorbent was prepared from sludge and straw by pyrolysis in a dried state with the surface area of the adsorbent of 829.49 ma. g-l, micropore volume of 0.176 cm2·g-1 and average pore radius of 5.0 nm. The kinetic, equilibrium isotherm and thermodynamic characteristics of trisodium 1-(1-naphthylazo)-2-hydroxynaphthalene- 4',6,8-trisulphonate (acid scarlet 3R) onto the adsorbent from sludge and straw were investigated. The results indicated that the pseudo second order adsorption was the predominant adsorption mechanism of acid scarlet 3R. Thus, the adsorption phenomenon was suggested as a chemical process. The adsorption data were fitted better with Langmuir model than Freundlich model, indicating that the adsorption of acid scarlet 3R belonged to the monolayer adsorption and mainly occurred in micropores.  相似文献

Effective recovery of UO2+2 from wastewater is essential for nuclear fuel industry and related industries. In this study,a novel adsorbent was prepared by loading titanium(Ti4+) onto collagen fiber(TICF),and its physical and chemical properties as well as adsorption to UO2+2 in nuclear fuel industrial wastewater were investigated. It is found that TICF can effectively recover UO2+2 from the wastewater with excellent adsorption capacity. The adsorption capacity is 0.62 mmol·g-1 at 303 K and pH 5.0 when the initial concentration of UO2+2 is 1.50 mmol·L-1.The adsorption isotherms can be described by the Langmuir equation and the adsorption capacity increases with temperature. The effect of co-existed F on the adsorption capacity for UO2+2 is significant, which can be eliminated by adding aluminum ions as complexing agent, while the other co-existed ions in the solutions, including HCO-3,Cl-,NO-3,Ca2+,Mg2+ and Cu2+,have little effect on the adsorption capacity for UO2+2.The saturated TICF after UO2+2 adsorption can be regenerated by using 0.2 mol·L-1 nitrate(HNO-3) as desorption agent, and the TICF can be reused at least three times. Thus the TICF is a new and effective adsorbent for the recovery of UO2+2 from the wastewater.  相似文献

The performance of cross-linked magnetic chitosan, coated with magnetic fluids and cross-linked with epichlorohydrin, was investigated for the adsorption of copper (II) from aqueous solutions. Infrared spectra of chitosan before and after modification showed that the coating and cross-linking are effective. Experiments were performed at different pH of solution and contact time, and appropriate conditions for the adsorption of Cu(II) were determined. Experimental equilibrium data were correlated with Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms for determination of the adsorption potential. The results showed that the Langmuir isotherm was better compared with the Freundlich isotherm, and the uptake of Cu(II) was 78.13 mg•g-1. The kinetics of adsorption corresponded with the first-order Langergren rate equation, and Langergren rate constants were determined.  相似文献

Zinc oxide nanoparticles(ZnOnp) are molecular nanoparticles synthesized by a chemical precipitation method from zinc nitrate tetrahydrate and sodium hydroxide.Carbonized sawdust(CSD) was prepared from sawdust obtained from a local wood mill. The matrix of both provides a better material as an adsorbent. The present study applied the functionality of ZnOnp,CSD,and ZnOnp-CSD matrix as adsorbent materials for the removal of Pb(Ⅱ) ions from aqueous solution. The method of batch process was employed to investigate the potential of the adsorbents. The influence of pH,contact time, initial concentration of adsorbate, the dosage of adsorbents, and the temperature of adsorbate-adsorbent mixture on the adsorption capacity were revealed. The adsorption isotherm studies indicate that both Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms were suitable to express the experimental data obtained with theoretical maximum adsorption capacities(q_m) of 70.42,87.72,and 92.59 mg·g~(-1) for the adsorption of Pb(Ⅱ) ions onto ZnOnp,CSD,and ZnOnp-CSD matrix, respectively. The separation factors(R_L) calculated showed that the use of the adsorbents for the removal of Pb(Ⅱ) ions is a feasible process with R_L 1.The thermodynamic parameters obtained revealed that the processes are endothermic, feasible, and spontaneous in nature at 25-50℃.Evaluation of the kinetic model elected that the processes agreed better with pseudo-second order where the values of rate constant(k_2) obtained for the adsorption of Pb(Ⅱ) ions onto ZnOnp,CSD,and ZnOnp-CSD matrix are 0.00149,0.00188,and 0.00315 g·mg~(-1)·min~(-1),respectively.The reusability potential examined for four cycles indicated that the adsorbents have better potential and economic value of reuse and the ZnOnp-CSD matrix indicates improved adsorbent material to remove Pb(Ⅱ) ions from aqueous solution.  相似文献

Lead has caused serious environmental pollution due to its toxicity, accumulation in food chains and persistence in nature. In this paper, removal of lead from aqueous solutions is investigated using a novel gel adsorbent synthesized from natural condensed tannin. The novel adsorbent performs in aqueous solutions as a weak base with valid basic groups of 1.2mmol·g-1 tannin gel particles and therefore results in the elevation of pH value of aqueous solutions. Even when initial pH is 3.6, final pH at equilibrium can climb up to 6.5 that is above the pH value for Pb(OH)2 precipitation formation and then lead can be removed from wastewater by this so-called surface precipitation. The adsorption isotherm can be expressed by the Langmuir equation and the maximum capacity for adsorption of Pb is up to 92 mg·g-1 (based on dry adsorbent) when initial pH value is 3.6. Hence, the adsorbent does offer favorable properties in lead removal with respect to its high adsorption capacity at low initial pH value, which  相似文献

The removal performance of a basic dye, methylene blue (MB), in aqueous solution was investigated by adsorption process on single-phase and high-crystalline zeolite A (FA-ZA) and X (FA-ZX). Both adsorbents FA-ZA and FA-ZX were synthesized from fly ash prepared aluminosilicate gel followed by the hydrothermal treatment at 100°C with the control of Si/Al molar ratio, respectively. The properties of the synthetic zeolites and commercial grade zeolites, such as thermal stability, elemental composition, and cation exchange capacity, were investigated for comparison. Batch method was used to study the influential parameters, such as initial pH value of the solution, temperatures, and adsorbents dosage, on the adsorption process. The experimental data were well fitted by Ho’ pseudo-second-order model and liquid film diffusion model. The suitability of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms to the equilibrium data was investigated in the solid-liquid system while the Langmuir model produces the best re-sults. Thermodynamic data (ΔH, ΔS, and ΔG) corresponding to the MB uptake were evaluated from the Langmuir model. In all the adsorption experiments, the adsorption capacity followed the order as follows: FA-ZX > FA-ZA. In addition, attempts were also made to regenerate the adsorbents.  相似文献

Heavy metal determination was carried out by applying the solid phase extraction (SPE) method in batch mode followed by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) and inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrosco-py (ICP-AES) from aqueous solutions using Ghezeljeh montmoril onite nanoclay as a new natural adsorbent. The Ghezeljeh clay is characterized by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Mi-croscopy–Energy Dispersive Spectrometry (SEM–EDS) and X-ray Diffractometry (XRD) and X-ray Fluorescence (XRF). The results of XRD and FT-IR of nanoclay confirm that montmoril onite is the dominant mineral phase. Based on SEM images of Ghezeljeh clay, it can be seen that the distance between the plates is Nano. The effects of varying parameters such as initial concentration of metal ions, pH and type of buffer solutions, amount of ad-sorbent, contact time, and temperature on the adsorption process were examined. The effect of various interfer-ing ions was studied. The adsorption data correlated with Freundlich, Langmuir, Dubinin–Radushkevich (D–R), and Temkin isotherms. The Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms showed the best fit to the equilibrium data for Hg(I ), but the equilibrium nature of Cu(II) adsorption has been described by the Langmuir isotherm. The kinetic data were described with pseudo-first-order, pseudo-second-order and double-exponential models. The adsorp-tion process follows a pseudo-second-order reaction scheme. Calculation ofΔG0,ΔH0 andΔS0 showed that the nature of Hg(II) ion sorption onto the Ghezeljeh nanoclay was endothermic and was favored at higher temper-ature, and the nature of Cu(II) ion sorption was exothermic and was favored at lower temperature.  相似文献

The adsorption kinetics and equilibrium of H_2PtCl_6 on various types of alumina were studied, and IRSand DRS were used to characterize these supports before and after impregnating with H_2PtCl_6 solution.Thedata indicated that the uptake of H_2PtCl_6 on supports strongly depends on the Lewis acidity of alumina andthat the adsorption rate is controlled by pore diffusion for supports of high adsorption capacity.Relationshipbetween uptake and acidity is interpreted in terms of active hydroxyl groups on alumina.  相似文献

A new nanometer material, nanometer AlO(OH) loaded on the fiberglass with activated carbon fibers felt(ACF) as the carrier, was prepared by hydrolytic reaction for the removal of Cd(II) from aqueous solution using column adsorption experiment. As was confirmed by XRD determination, the hydrolysis production loaded on fiberglass was similar to the orthorhombic phase AlO(OH). SEM images showed that AlO(OH) particles were in the form of small aggregated clusters. The Thomas model was applied for estimating the kinetic parameters and the saturated adsorption ability of Cd(II) adsorption on the new adsorbent. The results showed that the maximum adsorption capacity of Cd(II) was 128.50 mg·g^-1 and 117.86 mg·g^-1 for the adsorbent mass of 0.3289 g and the adsorbent mass of 0.2867 g, respectively. The elution experiment result indicated that the adsorbed Cd ions was easily desorbed from the material with 0.1 mol·L^-1 HCl solution. Adsorption-desorption cycles showed the feasibility of repealed uses of the composited material. The adsorption capacities were influenced by pH and the initial Cd(II) concentration. The amount adsorbed was greatest at pH 6.5 and the initial Cd(II) concentration of 0.07 mg·L^-1, respectively. Nanometer AlO(OH) played a major role in the adsorption process, whereas the fiberglass and ACF were assistants in the process of removing Cd(II). In addition, the adsorption capacities for Cd(II) were obviously reduced from 128.50 mg·L^-1 to 64.28 mg·L^-1 when Pb ions were present because Pb ions took up more adsorption sites.  相似文献

A facile method for synthesis of the magnetic Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was introduced.Magnetic nanoparticles were prepared via co-precipitation method with(PMF) and without(AMF) 0.15 T static magnetic field. The effects of magnetic field on the properties of magnetic nanoparticles were studied by XRD,TEM,SEM,VSM and BET.The results showed that the magnetic field in the co-precipitation reaction process did not result in the phase change of the Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles but improved the crystallinity. The morphology of Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was varied from random spherical particles to rod-like cluster structure. The VSM results indicated that the saturation magnetization value of the Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles was significantly improved by the magnetic field. The BET of Fe_3O_4nanoparticles prepared with the magnetic field was larger than the control by 23.5%.The batch adsorption experiments of Mn(Ⅱ) on the PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4 nanoparticles showed that the Mn(II) equilibrium capacity was increased with the pH value increased. At pH 8,the Mn(Ⅱ) adsorption capacity for the PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4 was reached at 36.81 and 28.36 mg·g~(-1),respectively.The pseudo-second-order model fitted better the kinetic models and the Freundlich model fitted isotherm model well for both PMF and AMF Fe_3O_4.The results suggested that magnetic nanoparticles prepared by the magnetic field presented a fairly good potential as an adsorbent for an efficient removal of Mn(Ⅱ) from aqueous solution.  相似文献

The adsorption of dibenzofuran (DBF) on three commercial granular activated carbons (GAC) was investigated to correlate the adsorption equilibrium and kinetics with the morphological characteristics of activated carbons. Breakthrough experiment was conducted to determine the isotherm and kinetics of dibenzofuran on the activated carbons. All-the experiment runs were performed in a fixed bed with a process temperature of 368 K. The effects of adsorbent morphological properties on the kinetics of the adsorption process were studied. The equilibrium data are found satisfactory fitted to the Langmuir isotherm. An intraparticle diffusion model based on the obtained Langmuir isotherm was'developed for predicting the fixed bed adsorption of dibenzofuran. The result indicated that this model fit all the breakthrough curves well. The surface diffusion coefficients of dibenzofuran on the activated carbon are calculated, and a relationship with the microporosity is found. As it was expected, the dibenzofuran molecule finds more kinetic restrictions for the diffusion in those carbons with narrower pore diameter.  相似文献

The potentials of silty clay(SC), acquired from Chaman, Balochistan, were investigated as adsorbent for Ni(Ⅱ)and Cd(Ⅱ) removal from contaminated media. The influence of different operating factors like dose, pH, temperature, and time of contact was explored, and optimum values were noted under batch adsorption method. Isothermal study was conducted with varying concentrations of solutions on optimized conditions and different adsorption models i.e., Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Dubinin–Radushkevich(D–R) isotherm, which were employed to interpret the process. The isothermal data of both Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) were well fitted to Langmuir isotherm suggesting the formation of monolayer of metal ions on silty clay. The values of adsorption capacity noted for Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ) were 3.603 mg·g~(-1) and 5.480 mg·g~(-)1, respectively. Kinetic studies affirmed that pseudo second order(PSO) kinetics was being obeyed by the removal of Ni(Ⅱ) and Cd(Ⅱ). Thermodynamic variables like free energy change(ΔG°), enthalpy change(ΔH°) and entropy change(ΔS°) were calculated. The negative value of ΔG° and the positive values of ΔH° and ΔS° unfolded that the removal process of both metal ions of by SC was spontaneous, endothermic and feasible.  相似文献
