We propose a full Eulerian incompressible solid-fluid interaction scheme capable of achieving high parallel efficiency and easily generating meshes for complex solid geometries. While good scalability of a full Eulerian solid-fluid interaction formulation has been reported by Sugiyama et al, their analysis was carried out using uniform Cartesian mesh and an artificial compressibility method. Typically, it is more challenging to achieve good scalability for hierarchical Cartesian meshes and a fully incompressible formulation. In addition, the conventional full Eulerian methods require a large computational cost to resolve complex solid geometries due to the usage of uniform Cartesian meshes. In an attempt to overcome the aforementioned issues, we employ the building-cube method, where the computational domain is divided into cubic regions called cubes. Each cube is divided at equal intervals, the same number of cubes is assigned to each core, and the spatial loop processing is executed for each cube. The numerical method is verified by computing five numerical examples. In the weak scaling test, the parallel efficiency at 32768 cores with 32 cores as a reference is 93.6%. In the strong scaling test, the parallel efficiency at 32768 cores with 128 cores as a reference is 70.2%.  相似文献

The performance of the multilevel code based high data rate (HDR) codec is evaluated with multiple-symbol differential detection over satellite channels. It is shown that multiple-symbol observation effectively fills the gap between conventional differentially coherent detection and ideal coherent detection with differential encoding. Being especially suitable for HDR application where carrier acquisition and tracking is extremely difficult, the codec reliably supports broadband ISDN transmission over a 72 MHz satellite transponder  相似文献

The performance of a high data rate (HDR) codec based on a multidimensional modulation code derived from multilevel codes is evaluated for a satellite channel. The codec reliably supports HDR transmission for broadband ISDN over a 72 MHz satellite transponder and is designed to be used with an 8 PSK modem. The trk gene family members; the neurotrophic receptors for neurotrophins, are implicated in the survival and the differentiation of neurons. The roles of these protooncogenes have been argued in the pathological conditions and in the specific developmental stage when the programmed cell death occurs to neurons. Here we studied a physiological role of the trk family members in the retina through observations of their gene regulation by light/darkness exposure. Northern blot analysis and immunohistochemistry demonstrate that trkB and trkC are up-regulated by light exposure and down-regulated by darkness in the rod/cone layer, the outer nuclear layer, and the ganglion cell layer. This physiological regulation suggests that these trk family members play a protective role from the damaging effect of light exposure in the retinal neurons.  相似文献

Eosinophilic leukocytes (eosinophils) are important effector cells in allergic inflammatory diseases such as asthma, in which significant accumulation of these cells is observed in the bronchial mucosa. However, there is little information about the relationships between bronchoconstriction and accumulation of eosinophils. We hypothesized that eosinophils are retained in the bronchial vasculature in the inner airway wall during bronchoconstriction because of deformation of the mucosal membrane. To test this hypothesis we induced unilateral bronchoconstriction in open chest guinea pigs by stimulating the right vagus nerve and compared the accumulation of eosinophils in the airway wall of the constricted and contralateral unconstricted lungs using histologic specimens. Results show that the density of eosinophils (number of cells/wall area) significantly increased in the inner wall and decreased in the adventitia of the constricted airways compared with the contralateral unconstricted airways. There was a positive relationship between the amount of smooth muscle shortening and the eosinophil density in the inner wall. On the other hand, this relationship was significantly negative in the adventitia. Atropine completely inhibited the eosinophil accumulation in the inner wall. These data suggest that eosinophils can accumulate in the airway inner wall during bronchoconstriction because of geometrical factors.  相似文献

This paper presents fracture mechanics analysis using the wavelet Galerkin method and extended finite element method. The wavelet Galerkin method is a new methodology to solve partial differential equations where scaling/wavelet functions are used as basis functions. In solid/structural analyses, the analysis domain is divided into equally spaced structured cells and scaling functions are periodically placed throughout the domain. To improve accuracy, wavelet functions are superposed on the scaling functions within a region having a high stress concentration, such as near a hole or notch. Thus, the method can be considered a refinement technique in fixed‐grid approaches. However, because the basis functions are assumed to be continuous in applications of the wavelet Galerkin method, there are difficulties in treating displacement discontinuities across the crack surface. In the present research, we introduce enrichment functions in the wavelet Galerkin formulation to take into account the discontinuous displacements and high stress concentration around the crack tip by applying the concept of the extended finite element method. This paper presents the mathematical formulation and numerical implementation of the proposed technique. As numerical examples, stress intensity factor evaluations and crack propagation analyses for two‐dimensional cracks are presented. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Phenolic compounds (PCs) are frequently present in foods. However, little is known about the effect of PCs on enzymatic digestion process of food proteins and their products. In this study, the effect of gallic acid (GA) on in vitro digestion of β-lactoglobulin (β-LG) was investigated as a model system for analysis of the interaction between PCs and food proteins. GA showed no effect on the initial rate of β-LG digestion. However, after 1.5 h of digestion, the observed degree of hydrolysis of β-LG was lower in the presence than in the absence of GA. The peptides released from β-LG were characterized by LC/IT-TOF-MS and thirty peptides were identified. In particular, four new peaks were obtained following in vitro digestion of β-LG in the presence of GA. Met(7), Met(24) and Met(145) in the peptides corresponding to these peaks were oxidized to methionine sulfoxide residues.  相似文献

We have developed a novel evaluation technique of the deterioration degree of insulators for breakers using a chemical analysis and the Mahalanobis–Taguchi (MT) method. It is possible to evaluate the deterioration degree with great accuracy and nondestructively on‐site by this technique without the effect of humidity and external noise such as electromagnetic waves. The mechanism of the insulator's surface resistivity reduction was clarified, and it was found that the deterioration degree of insulators could be evaluated by this technique because a linear relationship existed between the results judged by the MT method and the actual measurement results for the surface resistivity. In comparison to electrical methods, such as partial electric discharge and megohmmeters, the evaluation accuracy has been improved by three digits and the range of the deterioration degree that could be evaluated was expanded by seven digits. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A meshfree approach for plate buckling/post-buckling problems in the case of uniaxial thrust is presented. A geometrical nonlinear formulation is employed using reproducing kernel approximation and stabilized conforming nodal integration. The bending components are represented by Mindlin–Reissner plate theory. The formulation has a locking-free property in imposing the Kirchhoff mode reproducing condition. In addition, in-plane deformation components are approximated by reproducing kernels. The deformation components are coupled to solve the general plate bending problem with geometrical non-linearity. In buckling/post-buckling analysis of plates, the in-plane displacement of the edges in their perpendicular directions is assumed to be uniform by considering the continuity of plating, and periodic boundary conditions are considered in assuming the periodicity of structures. In such boundary condition enforcements, some node displacements/rotations should be synchronized with others. However, the enforcements introduce difficulties in the meshfree approach because the reproducing kernel function does not have the so-called Kronecker delta property. In this paper, the multiple point constraint technique is introduced to treat such boundary conditions as well as the essential boundary conditions. Numerical studies are performed to examine the accuracy of the multiple point constraint enforcements. As numerical examples, buckling/post-buckling analyses of a rectangular plate and stiffened plate structure are presented to validate the proposed approach.  相似文献
