Sodium and ultrafiltration profiling are method of dialysis in which dialysate sodium concentration and ultrafiltration rate are altered during the course of the dialysis session. Sodium and ultrafiltration profiling have been used, commonly simultaneously, to improve hemodynamic stability during hemodialysis. Sodium profiling is particularly effective in decreasing the incidence of intradialytic hypotension, while ultrafiltration profiling is suggested to decrease subclinical repeated end organ ischemia during dialysis. However, complications such as increased interdialytic weight gain and thirst due to sodium excess have prevented widespread use of sodium profiling. Evidence suggest that different sodium profiling techniques may lead to different clinical results, and preferring sodium balance neutral sodium profiling may mitigate adverse effects related to sodium overload. However, evidence is lacking on the long-term clinical outcomes of different sodium profiling methods. Optimal method of sodium profiling as well as the utility of sodium/ultrafiltration profiling in routine practice await further clinical investigation. 相似文献

This paper presents the implementation of a multiple analyte enzyme assay, based on the sequential injection of the different
enzyme solutions, in an electrokinetic driven microfluidic chip. The assay methodology for the simultaneous quantification
of d-glucose and d-fructose was reported in previous publications but here the real integration of both enzyme assays was achieved. When assays
were executed separately, good reproducibility was observed with average CV values of 5.2% and 4.5% for the d-glucose and d-fructose assay, respectively. Next, the assays for the quantification of d-glucose and d-fructose were integrated simultaneously on chip, where each assay was executed consecutively in the same microreactor by
applying a specific sequence of potentials at the reservoirs. This article proves the integration of a sequential based quantification

Various deterministic and latent structure approaches for combining forms of multidimensional scaling and cluster analysis have been previously discussed. A new clusterwise three-way unfolding methodology for the analysis of two-way or three-way metric dominance/preference data is proposed. The purpose of this proposed methodology is to simultaneously estimate a joint space of stimuli and cluster ideal point representations, as well as the clusters themselves, such that the geometry underlying the clusterwise model renders some indication of the underlying structure in the data. In the three-way case, it is shown how multiple ideal points can represent preference change over contexts or situations. Partitions, overlapping clusters, stationary and context dependent preference representations are allowed. After a literature review of related methodological research, the technical details of the proposed three-way clusterwise spatial unfolding model are presented in terms of modeling context/situational dependent preferences (i.e., preferences for various stimuli collected over the same set of subjects over time, situation, etc.). The psychological basis for the models is provided in terms of the extensive behavioral decision theory and consumer psychology literature on contextual preferences and situational effects. An application to a data set exploring preferences for breakfast/snack food data over a number of different usage situations is then presented, followed by a discussion on future potential research directions. 相似文献

Safe and comfortable transportation of passengers and goods on railways can be achieved by solving the vibration problem. In this study, the dynamic modeling of the full railway vehicle is used to perform vibration analysis in order to observe displacements and accelerations. The full railway vehicle model consists of 54 degrees of freedom which are defined by differential equations. Additionally, wheel–rail contact problem (i.e. creepage factors and hertzian spring stiffness of rails) is analyzed by finite element method. Dynamic modeling and vibration analysis are carried out using Matlab–Simulink software. Using the developed model, the car body vibrations, caused by a lateral and two vertical sinusoidal track irregularities, are controlled by fuzzy logic controllers placed between the car body and bogies. The fuzzy logic algorithm herein is used for realizing the active control of car body vibrations. The simulations of vibration analysis are obtained in time and frequency domains and compared with passive controlled status. The robustness of the designed controller is verified by simulations, carried out for the cases of car body mass variations. The results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. 相似文献

Although several applications of electrowetting on dielectric digital lab-on-a-chips are reported in literature, there is
still a lack of knowledge about the influence of operational and design parameters on the performance of an analytical assay.
This paper investigates how droplet size variability, introduced by droplet dispensing and splitting, influences the assay
performance with respect to repeatability and accuracy and presents a novel method to reduce this variability. Both a theoretical
and experimental approach were followed. Monte Carlo simulations were applied to study the cumulative effect of the variability
caused by different droplet manipulations on the final assay performance. It is shown that a highly controllable droplet generation
and manipulation is achieved with respect to droplet size variability through an accurate control of actuation voltage, activation
time, relaxation time, and electrode size. As a case study, it is illustrated that through optimization of these parameters
a complete on-chip calibration curve is obtained for a d-glucose assay with an average CV-value of 2%. These new insights aim to bring the digital lab-on-a-chip technology closer
to researchers in the field of diagnostics offering them a valuable and accessible alternative to standard analysis platforms. 相似文献

In this work, we extended the application of “the modified reductive perturbation method” to long water waves and obtained the governing equations as the KdV hierarchy. In this paper, we present a logical representation for form documents to be used for identification and retrieval. A hierarchical
structure is proposed to represent the structure of a form by using lines and the XY-tree approach. The approach is top-down
and no domain knowledge such as the preprinted data or filled-in data is used. Geometrical modifications and slight variations
are handled by this representation. Logically identical forms are associated to the same or similar hierarchical structure.
Identification and the retrieval of similar forms are performed by computing the edit distances between the generated trees.

The in vitro antimicrobial and antioxidant activities of the essential oil and methanolic extract of Micromeria fruticosa ssp serpyllifolia as well as the composition of the essential oil were examined. The essential oil exhibited activity against 14 bacteria, three fungi and a yeast, with minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) values ranging from 31.25 to 125 µl ml?1, whilst the methanolic extract was inactive. Antioxidant activity was measured by two methods, namely scavenging of the free radical DPPH and inhibition of linoleic acid oxidation. The methanolic extract exhibited significant antioxidant activity in both assays, providing 50% inhibition at 70.9 ± 0.5 µg ml?1 concentration in the DPPH assay and inhibiting linoleic acid oxidation to 59% at 2 mg ml?1 concentration, whilst the essential oil showed activity only at higher concentrations. The gallic acid equivalent total phenolic content of the methanolic extract was found to be 55.2 ± 2.00 µg mg?1 dry weight extract (5.5% w/w). The chemical composition of the hydrodistilled essential oil was analysed by means of GC/MS. Twenty‐nine constituents were identified, the main ones being piperitenone (50.61%) and pulegone (29.19%).
