The NASICON type solid electrolyte LATP is a promising candidate for all-solid-state Li-ion batteries considering energy density and safety aspects. To ensure the performance and reliability of batteries, crack initiation and propagation within the electrolyte need to be suppressed, which requires knowledge of the fracture characteristics. In the current work, micro-pillar splitting was applied to determine the fracture toughness of LATP material for different grain orientations. The results are compared with data obtained using a conventional Vickers indentation fracture (VIF) approach. The fracture toughness obtained via micro-pillar splitting test is 0.89 ± 0.13 MPa?m1/2, which is comparable to the VIF result, and grain orientation has no significant effect on the intrinsic fracture toughness. Being a brittle ceramic material, the effect of pre-existing defects on the toughness needs to be considered.  相似文献

A large proportion of mastitis milk samples yield negative or nonspecific results (i.e., no mastitis pathogen can be identified) in bacterial culturing. Therefore, the culture-independent PCR-single strand conformation polymorphism method was applied to the investigation of bovine mastitis milk samples. In addition to the known mastitis pathogens, the method was suitable for the detection of fastidious bacteria such as Mycoplasma spp., which are often missed by conventional culturing methods. The detection of Helcococcus ovis in 4 samples might indicate an involvement of this species in pathogenesis of bovine mastitis. In conclusion, PCR-single-strand conformation polymorphism is a promising tool for gaining new insights into the bacteriological etiology of mastitis.  相似文献

Effects of parental acceptance or rejection of a proposed aversive behavioral intervention on treatment acceptability ratings were investigated. Results suggest that parental acceptance or rejection of the proposed intervention significantly affected treatment acceptability ratings. The issue of a client's right to effective treatment versus the right to be free of a restrictive or aversive intervention was the dominant issue for judges. Results were discussed in terms of the usefulness of treatment acceptability ratings in treatment decision-making.  相似文献

Plasma corticosterone fluctuations of infant rats were examined in a learning task. A blood sample for analysis of plasma corticosterone was collected from groups of 10- and 15-day-old pups following either no disturbance, standard maternal deprivation only, or deprivation and training in an established approach-mother, avoid-shock conflict task. In the latter condition, pups remained in the goalbox either alone or with an anesthetized dam for either 15 or 60 min before blood sample collection. Plasma corticosterone levels were elevated following deprivation plus training in pups of both ages and following deprivation only in the 15-day-old pups. Further, the presence of the dam in the goalbox reduced plasma corticosterone elevations, particularly among 15-day-old pups and at 60 min. These findings suggest that the mother's capacity to moderate the pup's plasma corticosterone response may contribute to her reinforcement value in infant-learning paradigms. The aim of this study was to elucidate whether and to what extent fresh produce from Germany plays a role as a carrier and reservoir of antibiotic resistant bacteria. For this purpose, 1001 vegetables (fruit, root, bulbous vegetables, salads and cereals) were collected from 13 farms and 11 supermarkets in Germany and examined bacteriologically. Phenotypic resistance of Enterobacter cloacae (n = 172); Enterobacter gergoviae (n = 92); Pantoea agglomerans (n = 96); Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n = 295); Pseudomonas putida (n = 106) and Enterococcus faecalis (n = 100) against up to 30 antibiotics was determined by using the microdilution method. Resistance to ß-lactams was most frequently expressed by P. agglomerans and E. gergoviae against cefaclor (41% and 29%). Relatively high resistance rates were also observed for doxycycline (23%), erythromycin (21%) and rifampicin (65%) in E. faecalis, for spectinomycin (28%) and mezlocillin (12%) in E. cloacae, as well as for streptomycin (19%) in P. putida. In P. aeruginosa, relatively low resistance rates were observed for the aminoglycosides amikacin, apramicin, gentamicin, neomycin, netilmicin and tobramycin (< 4%); 11% was resistant to streptomycin. No glycopeptide-resistant enterococci were observed. Resistance rates of bacteria isolated from farm samples were higher than those of the retail markets whenever significant differences were observed. This suggests that expressing resistance is at the expense of bacterial viability, since vegetables purchased directly at the farm are probably fresher than at the supermarket, and they have not been exposed to stress factors. However, this should not keep the customer from buying directly at the farm, since the overall resistance rates were not higher than observed in bacteria from human or animal origin. Instead, peeling or washing vegetables before eating them raw is highly recommended, since it reduces not only the risk of contact with pathogens, but also that of ingesting and spreading antibiotic resistant bacteria.  相似文献

The properties of a material can be engineered by manipulating its atomic and chemical architecture. Nanoglasses which have been recently invented and comprise nanosized glassy particles separated by amorphous interfaces, have shown promising properties. A potential way to exploit the structural benefits of nanoglasses and of nanocrystalline materials is to optimize the composition to obtain crystals forming within the glassy particles. Here, a metastable Fe‐10 at% Sc nanoglass is synthesized. A complex hierarchical microstructure is evidenced experimentally at the atomic scale. This bulk material comprises grains of a Fe90Sc10 amorphous matrix separated by an amorphous interfacial network enriched and likely stabilized by hydrogen, and property‐enhancing pure‐Fe nanocrystals self‐assembled within the matrix. This composite structure leads a yield strength above 2.5 GPa with an exceptional quasi‐homogeneous plastic flow of more than 60% in compression. This work opens new pathways to design materials with even superior properties.  相似文献

Liquid phase pyrolysis (LPP) oil, an intermediate from biofuel production using second‐generation biomass, is a promising source of biobased platform chemicals like acetic acid, however, displaying a complex, multicomponent mixture. Reactive extraction with Cyanex®923 was investigated for selective recovery of acids and subsequent solvent regeneration in distillation at 200 mbar. In a three‐stage extraction 81 % of acids were removed from the LPP oil without loss of Cyanex®923 to the raffinate. Solvent regeneration efficiency of acids was up to 99.7 % with mainly acids and water in the distillate.  相似文献

Ce0.8Gd0.2O2−δ-FeCo2O4 composites are attractive candidate materials for high-purity oxygen generation providing robust chemical stability. Aiming for future industrial applications, a feasible solid-state reaction process with one thermal processing step was used to synthesize 50 wt% Ce0.8Gd0.2O2−δ:50 wt% FeCo2O4 and 85 wt% Ce0.8Gd0.2O2−δ:15 wt% FeCo2O4 composites. Mechanical reliabilities of the sintered membranes were assessed based on the characterized mechanical properties and subcritical crack growth behavior. In general, the fracture strengths of as-sintered membranes were reduced by tensile residual stresses and microcracks. In particular, the enhanced subcritical crack growth behavior, which leads to limited stress tolerance and high failure probability after a 10-year operation, was evaluated in more detail. Further materials and processing improvements are needed to eliminate the tensile stress and microcracks to warrant a long-term reliable operation of the composites.  相似文献
